We are very pleased to announce that the search process for ISB’s Athletics Director has been completed and that Chris Mott has been appointed to the position beginning in the 2020/21 school year.
Chris brings with him a wealth of experience having served as Athletics Director at The American School of Lima (Lima, Peru), Activities & Athletics Director at GEMS American Academy (Abu Dhabi, UAE), Director of Student Life at Istanbul International Community School, Activities Director at the International School of Estonia, Activities Director and PE Teacher at K International School Tokyo, as well as other teaching positions in Oman and in his home country of Australia.
Chris has a Masters of Educational Studies from the University of Queensland, Australia and a Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Teaching from La Trobe University, Australia.
Chris is very active with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) including designing and developing an Athletic Administration Certification program. With our current amazing Athletics Office and Associate Athletics Director, Mark Jaspers, we are looking forward to continuing to have an outstanding athletics team to work with our student-athletes.
We also warmly welcome Georgina Mott to the ISB family – Georgina is currently an ES Teacher at The American School of Lima. Joining Chris and Georgina are their children Eve and Hudson.
I would like to thank all of the parents, coaches, students and administrators who helped in the interview process.
We are very grateful to Derrick Quinet for his tremendous leadership of ISB athletics and we know he will bring great leadership, incredible spirit and vast experience to his new school as he moves to the other side of the globe next year. Even though he will be far away….once a panther, always a panther.
All the best.
