‘Nearly there’

Dear Parents,
Thank you for your interest and attendance at our recent concerts and events at school where your children have put their individual and collective talents on display. I have really enjoyed the opportunity to switch off my phone, sit back in a comfortable chair in the CC or Chevron theatre and to take in the talents of our students and teachers for an hour or so. These concerts do signify the nearing of the end of the first semester of learning and the impending start to the holiday season. We are nearly there.
Regards

Possible Schedule Changes
Justyna McMillan
justynam@isb.ac.th
In general students retain the same schedule for second semester. In some cases, due to changes in course choice, addition of semester courses, or other factors, a student’s schedule may be slightly different next semester. In these cases, we do the best we can to keep the same teachers for each student, but this is not always possible. Students need to view their Semester 2 schedule on PowerSchool to be ready for the first day of school. If students wish to change their schedule they should see their counselor.

December 13
Grade 11- Students should have met with their College Counselor this week for the Junior Seminar 2.5 Small Group session. Reminder: Each Junior should have written and submitted their own Mission Statement to their College Counselor by 16 December. In the small group meetings, the counselors reviewed how to research universities and students were given several assignments: download the Building Your University List spreadsheet (share with their College Counselor) adding their own notes and preferences, interview their parents about their preferences and make notes on the spreadsheet, and to complete the Junior University Research Assignment. All of these should be completed by 27 January 2020.
Grade 12- Time is short!! Students should see their College Counselor if they have any questions about their applications. College Counselors are busy hitting submit on the ISB documents!!
Universities are releasing their decisions on Early Action and Early Decision applications. Please encourage your child to let their College Counselor know about their decisions! If a student is accepted as an Early Decision applicant, he/she must withdraw all other submitted applications. The best way to do so is through email and the student should cc his/her College Counselor in the email. All counselors are available to support the student in doing this. Just ask them to stop by the office.
The winter break is around the corning!!
Happy Holidays from the entire Counseling Department!!
