News from HS Counselors

Students in Advisory classes completed the “Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire” (SDQ) in the past week (Tuesday 19 November for grades 9 and 10, and Tuesday 26 November for grades 11 and 12), and the counselors are looking at the results in order to see what trends are prevalent in the high school as well as what students are most at risk in the high school.  The data collected is used to see trends in student behavior, perceptions, and feelings, and to individually help students who are struggling with school and personal issues.  We counselors have already had discussions with many students about their feelings about school, friendships, families, and all sorts of things on their minds, as a result of administering the SDQ.  We will do the questionnaire again in March to monitor all of our students’ wellbeing again this school year.
