In the past few months, we have continued to upgrade our systems and measure our indoor air quality at various points on campus. These efforts will prepare us for the cyclical air quality issues that we can see will typically arise in the winter months in Bangkok and ensure improved air quality throughout the year.
What have we done?
- We have installed a Thermo Fisher ADR1500 Outdoor Air Quality Monitor with readings published on our website.
- It is linked to the Gams Dynamic View and it allows us to analyze data on an ongoing basis, making comparisons with other school locations in Bangkok.
- We are in the final stages of testing various air purification filters to see which one works best to improve classroom air quality. Once a system is selected, they will be installed throughout the school starting this summer. The timing to complete the roll-out will depend on the chosen system and the difficulty in installing them. We will be able to provide an update on this in the beginning of the new school year.
- Simultaneously, we are working with engineers to retrofit AHU’s in spaces like the gyms and libraries to improve the filtration of PM10 to PM2.5. Thereafter, we will proceed to ensure all learning spaces have air filtration devices installed.
