‘Last Days’

Justin Alexander
justina@isb.ac.th

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to everyone after the well deserved Songkran break. We enjoyed a great week on campus as our Seniors begin their preparations for their final exams. In fact today is our Seniors last day of formal classes and we wish them all the best with their studies over the coming weeks as they move closer to their Graduation on June 1st.

Congratulations to all involved in the Celebration of Service event held on Tuesday night where more than 150 people came together to celebrate the commitment and great work that our students and teachers do with regards to Service at ISB and beyond.

Our student thespians presented their one act plays in the HS Spring Showcases on Wednesday and Thursday nights, with a mixture of dramatic and humorous plays on display for the audience to enjoy.

Save the date for the last HS PTA meeting of the year on Tuesday May 8th at 9.30am, more details next week about the agenda. Have a great weekend.

Justin Alexander
High School Principal

Friday 26th April is the last day for seniors with IB, AP and ISB exams going through until Friday 24th May.  Exams continue on all public holidays in this period.

Students are expected to be in school uniform when on campus during the school day or taking their exams.

Teachers are available to assist students during the exam period.  The ISB Library will be available to students on Saturdays and Sundays for the next four weekends, dependent on ISB Faculty volunteer supervision.

Seniors need to have a Gate Pass to leave campus during the IB examination period. For those students who don’t have a Senior Gate Pass, these can be prepared by Khun Gade next week before exams start.

A reminder that all Seniors are expected to attend Senior Breakfast on Thursday May 30th and Graduation Practice on Friday May 31st.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SENIORS

susanc@isb.ac.th

USA & Canada University Deadline – Request for Results Services

If Seniors would like IB to send their results directly to US or Canadian Universities, then students need to complete the Googleform below so we have the information we need to make this happen.  This deadline is April 29.

IB students who wish to have their IB Results directly passed onto Universities will need to read and complete this form:  Request for Results Service

Legalization of IB Diploma

In some countries the IB document Diploma Results will not be valid unless it is legalized in Geneva, Switzerland by the relevant embassy or consulate.

The Diploma itself is only legalized in exceptional circumstances when required.  The standard fee per student for the legalization of each single IB Diploma document is approximately 5500 Baht and must be paid to ISB before the request for Legalization will be sent to IB.

The following countries demand copies of passports: Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Iran, Italy, Palestine and Saudi Arabia (see list of special cases below).

Countries concerned

The following is a list of countries for which legalization has been required in past years.  Requirements may be imposed by other countries in the future.  If you are in any doubt whether this is required, please contact the High School Office.

Argentina* El Salvador* Malta* Serbia*
Armenia* Estonia* Mexico* Singapore
Bolivia Georgia* Montenegro* Slovakia*
Bosnia and Greece* Nigeria Slovenia*
Herzegovina* Guatemala Pakistan Spain*
Brazil* Indonesia Palestine South Korea*

*The Apostille Stamp (as per The Apostille Convention, The Hague, 5 October 1961), replaces legalization by the consulate and one Apostille Stamp covers each of the countries indicated with an asterisk in the list above.

Please see Ms. Canobie or Khun Mook if you need your IB Diploma Legalized.  This must be requested by June 6th .

Soon students will have access to their final exam schedule on PowerSchool. The best form of preparation for these exams right now is focusing on what is being taught at present and preparing for the likely summative assessment that will take place between now and finals. Now would also be a time to visit teachers with any questions from prior topics that were difficult to grasp; this shouldn’t take place a few days prior to exams. Please encourage your son or daughter to do so.

As we all know, this is the time of year when temperatures and humidity are extremely high. It is important to keep encouraging hydration for both health and learning purposes. Keep Hydrated:)

Eriko Sugawara

Photo Package – Registration of your interest

Come to the Photo Studio near the Rajendra Hall to take pictures individually, or with family and friends. The Photo Studio will be open at 8:00am – 12:00pm in the morning session and after the ceremony until 6:00pm in the evening session on the graduation day. We usually have less people in the morning. Your child hasn’t gotten the diploma and Phung Malai yet before the ceremony? No worries! We will have them ready as props. Please click on http://bit.ly/isbgradphoto  to check more details and register your interest. You are welcome to walk-in on the day, but registering your interest will help the photo taking process be smooth and fast. Thank you for your cooperation!

Personal Photographer
A photo of your child in their gown and cap with their diploma in hand, with Phuang Malai hanging from their neck is certainly important on this big day. But there are plenty of good photo opportunities before and after the ceremony: photos that are more candid and tell a story. Your personal photographer will follow you and capture your special moments all day (9:30am – 6:00pm). You can also share a photographer with a friend (limited to 2 families per photographer). Please click on Personal Photographer for more details and booking. Questions? email info@firstpix.co.th. 10% of the sales will go to the graduation committee to cover the cost of reception.
