Monday, April 8, 2019 Chakri Day/Professional Day – No School
Monday, April 8, 2019 is Chakri Day. No school for students and classified staff. However, it is a professional day for certified staff.  Classes resume on Tuesday, April 9, 2019. It will be an ‘F’ day.

ES Explore (ES After School Activities)
Please note that Monday, April 8th is a school holiday – no school, no ES Explore in session.  Most of ES Explore classes have already hosted their 7th session. Please note that this semester the program will run for 11 sessions.

Infectious Disease – Message From our Health Coordinator
As a reminder, please do not send your child to school with any of the following symptoms;

  • fever
  • coughing, sneezing, sore throat, and runny nose
  • headaches or body aches
  • diarrhoea
  • vomiting
  • abdominal pain or cramps
  • fatigue
  • inability to tolerate fluids and/or diet

Symptoms should not be masked with the use of medication.  Please inform the clinic at nurse@isb.ac.th for any suspected or confirmed cases as soon as possible so we can advise you further and take appropriate measures to minimise the spread of infection.

(Repeat) Songkran Assembly
Our students will participate in our annual Songkran Assembly on Friday Apr. 12.  Due to space restrictions and safety regulations, this is a student only event and parents will not be admitted to the theater.  We will however, upload photos onto our Flickr pages.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

In order for the PTA to continue to offer critical community-enhancing activities like Intercultural Day, Staff Appreciation, parent education and social support events, Welcome Wai, student activities and materials grants and MORE, we need marvelous parents like YOU!!  This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact at ISB, while having fun, creating exciting memories, and getting to know even more wonderful people.  We are seeking enthusiastic and spirited individuals to help make 2019-2020 another fantastic year, where our entire community feels connected! PTA Overview:
The ISB PTA is a parent run auxiliary with the goal to help its community and our children have a memorable and pleasant experience at ISB.  PTA’s main objective is to encourage parental involvement through social events and activities that help bring the ISB community together. Among its assortment of tasks, PTA members meet monthly, share monthly activity reports, participate in budgeting, and contribute to Touchstone articles.

PTA Roles Overview:

President – Primary liaison between PTA and the school administration. Oversees officers, chairs, and committees.
Vice President – Liaise and support the Community Representatives and chair the PTA Nominating Committee. PTA representative on Food, Security, and Transportation committees.
IFF Coordinator – Plan, organize and ensure smooth operation at IFF.
Adult Education Coordinator – Manages course offerings, enrollment fees & payments.
Secretary – Creates meeting agendas, notifies Board Members and Membership of regularly scheduled meetings, and records and reports meeting minutes
Treasurer – Manages all PTA budgets and financials, through the use of good accounting and in accordance with Bylaws. A background in accounting is required.
ES Coordinator – Organizes PTA school meetings and intercultural day activities, represents general parent interests, ideas and suggestions to the school leadership team.
MS Coordinator – Organizes PTA school meetings and student socials, represents general parent interests, ideas and suggestions to the school leadership team.
HS Coordinator – Organizes PTA school meetings, liaises & supports subcommittees, represents general parent interests, ideas and suggestions to the school leadership team.  Works in team with the Principal Forum coordinator and as a liaison for communication with the HS administration and the PTA.
Communications Coordinator – Maintains PTA website, publishes “PTA e-news” newsletters & updates the PTA Facebook page as needed.
Editor in Chief of Touchstone – Oversees editing, layout, writing, proofreading, publishing, and distribution of Touchstone magazine.
Hospitality Coordinator – Organizes cookie appreciation day, Staff Appreciation lunch, hospitality treats and distributes cards/gifts for births, farewell & welcome for staff.
Welcome Wai Coordinator – Organizes parent activities like welcome coffees, new parents orientation, first point of welcome for new ISB families and assists in their integration to ISB.

Elections for the PTA Executive Board 2019/2020 will be held on 14-May at 6pm.

Our ISB Summer School Office is now open and accepting registrations for Summer School 2019 at ISB! You can go to the ISB website, or click here, to access all information about dates, programs, and fees, and to submit a registration form online.

New to our Special Enrichment Camp offerings this year:

  • ES/MS Environmental Science Camp – 4 overnights at our EWC – 1 or 2 week options
  • ES/MS Innovator’s Workshop – 1 or 2 week options

Our Summer School Office is located through the door on the right side of the ISB Bookstore where Khun Fon will be there to greet and assist you Monday to Fridays, 7:00 – 11:30am.

(Repeat) After School Supervision
Any elementary school student on campus outside of regular school hours, who is not participating in a school sponsored event, must be actively supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. This includes being in the elementary Learning Hub (library).

Submitting an announcement for publication
ISB accepts announcements from ISB families for potential publication in our eNewsletters. The announcements are generally intended to highlight events that occur at ISB and/or highlight information about ISB.

What to include in the announcement

  • A title for your announcement
  • An email contact for further information

Where to submit your announcement
4publish@isb.ac.th is for announcements of interest to the entire ISB community.
tinaratr@isb.ac.th is for Elementary School (ES) announcements of interest to ES families.
phremjiz@isb.ac.th is for Middle School (MS) announcements of interest to MS families.
vijitl@isb.ac.th is for High School (HS) announcements of interest to HS families.

Your announcement will be submitted to the appropriate Principal and/or to our Director of Marketing and Communications for review. ISB reserves the right to determine which announcements will and will not be published, and to edit announcements that are approved for publication.

Frequency of eNewsletter mailings
The ISB eNewsletter that is for the entire community is sent out on Thursdays. Announcements for potential publication in this newsletter must be received by noon on Thursdays.

The ES, MS, and HS eNewsletters are sent out on Fridays. Announcements for potential publication in these newsletters must be received by noon on Fridays.
