World Down Syndrome Day

ISB is participating in World Down Syndrome Day on March 20th this year.  This is a day to celebrate inclusion and recognize the rights of individuals with Down Syndrome.  As one way to raise awareness around the issue, students across all divisions are encouraged to wear colorful and interesting socks to school on March 20th.  If they want, they can even wear three socks! Chromosomes kind of look like socks and Down Syndrome is a result of an extra chromosome in addition to one particular pair!

The high school inclusion club, InvisAbilities, will be selling socks that ES parents can purchase for 100 baht a pair, March 18-20th from 10:30-11:30 in the MS/HS cafeteria.  All money raised will go to Steps with Theera.  This local organization trains and employs individuals with a range of exceptionalities, including Down Syndrome.

Please encourage your children to show their support with colorful socks on March 20th!
