Concerns Over Social Media – “Challenges”

As a part of our on-going counseling program in the elementary school, we educate students on the potential dangers of accessing sites that make them feel scared and/or uncomfortable.  We teach students to report to parents or a trusted adult if they come across a website or image that makes them feel bad, scared, or uncomfortable. A recent trend on social media has been presenting “challenges” to children that might not be appropriate.  Please be aware of what your children are viewing on their devices and have proactive conversations with them.
