Dear Parents,

‘Ideas worth spreading’ is the TED organization’s vision and goal which was more than met on Thursday night when 8 amazing students presented their TEDx talks to an enthralled audience in the Culture Centre Theater (CCT).  I was absolutely amazed at the maturity, poise, delivery, substance, and emotion shared in the TEDx talks shared on Thursday night by our Grade 11 students.

Brilliantly hosted by two Juniors Nolie Giles and Thomas Bulow, the audience was treated to thoughtful, evocative and challenging speeches or ‘talks’ that covered individuality, community service, environmental ignorance, mental health awareness, second language learning, teenage rebellion, imitation and apathy, the case for reading and simulation. The audience was also treated to what will become a viral Slam Poem – ‘Welcome to my World’ by Maggie Chao and Tana Martin and two exceptional musical performances by VOX.

You can read more about the ISB story and long-standing involvement with TEDxYouth talks by visiting our website here. Congratulations to this years TEDx Talk finalists:

Madison Metha, Craig Dawe, Fizza Mobin, Yeonie Heo, Xuan Fan Loo, Montawan (Nae Nae) Chairatchaneeboon, Tatarit (Mod) Yensuang and Annata Tantiwongse.
