We would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday. We know our diverse community are going to be enjoying a wide range of traditions and celebrations customary to this time of year and we hope they are joyous, whatever they may be.

Sign your company up for Pathways Career Fair
The ISB Pathways Program aims to provide High School students with valuable work experience and guidance. We do this through internships, job shadowing, the career fair and visiting guest speakers.
The Career Fair brings professionals from our alumni, parent and the wider Bangkok community to join a panel discussion and a fair. The panel addresses student questions about how to choose the right path of career, how to approach career choices and opportunities, and gives our speakers a chance to share their personal story and their journey on their career path. The fair that follows gives students the opportunity to ask particular, more detailed questions to the visiting professionals about their job and industry.
We’re currently looking for parent speakers to join the panel and Pathways program for the next Career Fair on January 24th, from 10am to noon.

If You Know you are Leaving ISB

Unfortunately, given the transient nature of our community, often we need to bid farewell to families at the end of Semester 1. For those of you who are not returning to ISB after Semester 1, we would like to please remind you to notify the appropriate divisional office/s as soon as possible and complete the withdrawal form to enable us to process school records that will be required by the new school.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
School Uniform: Thank you for your feedback
Thank you to those that gave feedback on the uniform samples displayed last week on campus.
We received valuable feedback that will help us to create the next round of samples for review. We have compiled the data collected and some key trends that came through were as follows:
- Most of our community are in favour of keeping the design of our polo shirts the same or very similar. 3 solid colours, with a solid white option, and the same shirt cut and style.
- Most of our community would like a dry fit option for material of the shirts and two clear preferences came through. However, given the variance of comments received, we will explore further options of fabric for the next round.
The first round of samples were created based on the answers given in the whole school survey sent early in the school year. Your feedback now given on these samples has helped us to refine our choices.
We understand that a change in uniform impacts our whole community and we will continue to ensure that we take into account all the thoughts and ideas of our parents, staff and students to ensure we reach an improved ISB school uniform.
We will have adjusted options for review in the coming months.
Save the Date for IFF 2019
The most fun and festive event of the year is coming to ISB! The International Family Fair will be held on 23 February from 3-7:30 pm. What you can expect at IFF 2019? Fabulous food booths featuring food from over 30 countries around the globe, brought to you by our wonderful ISB country groups, games, bouncy houses, entertainment, and fun for kids and adults of all ages. Mark your calendar for an afternoon and evening of great food and fun for everyone!

We’re expanding!
ISB is now enrolling children from 3 years old
Research shows that children are more successful in school and beyond if they are provided with a strong foundation in the earliest years of their lives. For the past couple of years, ISB has been considering an expansion of the learning we offer to younger children so that we can provide them with the ISB standard of education at this fundamental time of their development. We are very excited to announce that from the 2019 – 2020 school year, we will now be taking this important step.
A decision was made at the November board meeting to offer admission to 3 year old children at ISB, beginning August 2019. We will be adding one section of students to our Pre-K/KG quad, and they’ll embark on the same journey of Reggio Emilia inspired discovery, creativity, collaboration and developmental learning that all our young panthers in the Early Childhood program enjoy. We will be renovating the playground and other supporting facilities to cater for this younger group of learners.
We believe that ISB can provide a strong foundation, which can lead to more success for learners throughout their school experience. Here are a few reasons why:
- Our programs allow for personalized learning based on developmental readiness
- Our innovative learning space allows for intentional centers with small groupings and collaboration with other age groups
- We offer a safe and nurturing environment where curiosity and exploration are cultivated
- We provide guided discovery and unstructured play both inside and outside of the classroom so that children can create and solve authentic challenges
- Children are given the freedom to creatively choose much of their learning paths
- We have the highest quality teachers in each classroom
- There is collaboration with children of other age groups
- We structure rich language experiences so that children develop in their oral expressions and vocabulary

Our New Website is Live!
We have spent many months designing and crafting a website that we believe highlights many of ISB’s unique selling points and celebrates our community. We also focused on ensuring we maintain our strong domain authority online and to create an improved user experience for visitors to the site.
The next stage in this process is redesigning our Parent and Staff Portals to ensure our community can easily find all the information and important links they need. But for now, have a wander through our new site!
