MS Olympics are here

This Thursday, December 13th, we are excited to put on our MS Olympics, hosted by the Middle School PE department. Today our first “pre-event,” the Biathlon took place in front of the entire middle school, with student cheering on their classmates as they finished the race.

On Wednesday morning, we will have the mile run event on the track.

On Thursday, we will begin in Rajendra with the Opening Ceremony, followed by cultural games, track and field events, and other team activities.

This year’s MS Olympics are “hosted” by the United States. We hope that you can join us for some or all of the day.

Celebration of Music and Cultures

This week we were treated to a wonderful MS-HS (and Community) Choir Concert themed around the diversity of our student population and a celebration of the musical heritages of their cultures. What a treat it was to hear students speaking in their Native Languages, introducing songs and then having our choir groups perform them in those languages. From Korea to Denmark, Ireland to Japan, Canada and the US to Germany, and Thailand to South Africa, we celebrated some of the many cultures and languages from around the world represented at ISB.

Bravo to Andy Marshall and his team for putting on such a wonderful concert!

These are just a few of the dozens of “If’s” that artists in 2-D art explored this semester. Some artists worked in watercolor while others spent time with visiting artist, Jeff Ross, learning how to screen print.

Stop by the Main Library or Adminstration office to see this student created and curated display. IF is on exhibit from 6 December – 1 February.

Thank you to Phatsakorn (Ang) Buraphaphong (grade 7) for the poster image!

Repeat Announcement: MS Snow Ball: Parent Help Needed

Dear parents of middle school students,

We are all looking forward to the upcoming Snow Ball and invite you to participate by volunteering your time to assist with the event. Specifically, we’ll need help in three areas: preparing some of the decorations ahead of time (Thursday afternoon), decorating the MPB room (Saturday at 3:30), and then cleaning up after the dance (Saturday at 8:00 PM).

If you are able to come to one (or more) of these times, you’ll get a sneak peek at the night AND you’ll be doing the kids and the planners a big favor. Please let us know if you can help by clicking here.

It is very difficult to get documents together once the vacation has started.
