ISB School Calendar for 2019-2020

The ISB Board of Trustees has approved the calendar for the 2019-2020 school year.  The team took into account many needs and preferences.  The main differences from this year are the later start time for the December holiday (creating better balance between first and second semesters) and the inclusion of a full week holiday in February.

Early Release days and Parent Teacher Conferences will be added and an updated calendar posted as soon as those are in place.

The team creating the drafts and sharing feedback included parents, students, teachers, and administrators.  They worked hard to come up with a great year that supports learning.  Many thanks to everyone who shared their time, ideas, and perspectives.

Winter Break Campus Improvement Projects

From Saturday December 15th, we will have one of the largest, “Winter Break Project” endeavors we’ve seen in some time.  There are currently 24 separate projects set to begin on the 15th, all around the school.

We will see the 25m pool being completed, carpet replacements, white board wall painting, AC replacements, a green wall added on both sides of the zigzag, new lighting, door replacements, bird netting in the outdoor gyms, big toy flooring repair and much more. The major impact to those staying during the break will be work on our athletics facilities. Specifically:

 – Field A and the running track (closed all break)
 – Most of the area around the Rajendra Gym, Auxi gyms and Breezeway (Closed most of the break)
 – Hard top (Closed most of the break)
 – Big toy (Closed most of the break)

We will be keeping the tennis courts, Field B, C, D and E open for use.  That being said, some hallways and access routes may be blocked or restricted.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sign your company up for Pathways Career Fair

The ISB Pathways Program aims to provide High School students with valuable work experience and guidance. We do this through internships, job shadowing, the career fair and visiting guest speakers.

The Career Fair brings professionals from our alumni, parent and the wider Bangkok community to join a panel discussion and a fair. The panel addresses student questions about how to choose the right path of career, how to approach career choices and opportunities, and gives our speakers a chance to share their personal story and their journey on their career path. The fair that follows gives students the opportunity to ask particular, more detailed questions to the visiting professionals about their job and industry.

We’re currently looking for parent speakers to join the panel and Pathways program for the next Career Fair on January 24th, from 10am to noon.

Should you be interested, please register here.

Unfortunately, given the transient nature of our community, often we need to bid farewell to families at the end of Semester 1. For those of you who are not returning to ISB after Semester 1, we would like to please remind you to notify the appropriate divisional office/s as soon as possible and complete the withdrawal form to enable us to process school records that will be required by the new school.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
