Dear Parents,

It’s Black and Gold day today and our spirits are high in the High School. The musical ‘Anything Goes’ opened on Thursday night to great applause and Spirit Night kicks off today for all of our teams playing Touch, Tennis, Rugby and Basketball. The Basketball continues over the weekend with teams joining us from all over South East Asia for our basketball tournament. Good luck to all of our thespians, musicians and support crew for the musical and all the best to our coaches and players in their games tonight and over the weekend.

December Exam Schedule

Please find the link to the Dec. Exam Schedule here.  Exams are for Grade 9 & 10 English, Social Studies, Science and Math and for any student who takes a non-IB world language class.  Note, Grade 9 and 10 students, and will NOT be in classes from Thursday Dec. 6- 12.  Dec. 12 is an Assessment & Grading day, noting there are no Grade 9 & 10 classes.  In addition, world language classes will not continue during this exam period.  All other Grade 11 and 12 classes will continue as usual.  Individual student exam schedules have been placed in PowerSchool on the QuickLookup. 

Students wishing to leave campus during exam days will need to complete the Early Departure Permission Form and have it signed and submitted to the High School Office. 

Please also review this information letter outlining the final weeks of school in December.

As we approach the December break, all G12 students are reminded that they need to finalize their university lists with their college counselors by December 1st if they intend on applying to any schools with a January application deadline. G11 students will have their second college counseling seminar on Monday during Panther Block.

Come one, come all to the Panthers’ Season Two Spirit Night, this festive Friday eve at ISB!  

SPIRIT NIGHT SCHEDULE

This rendition of our communities’ favourite event features the 16 teams participating in the ISB Basketball Invitational, alongside Varsity and JV rugby, touch, and tennis! Games begin at 4pm and conclude at 8:30pm, and the fun and food goes all night long, with Booster Hut, Shoshana, Cafe Kabul, Subway, Emack & Bolio, and Baan Kim Chi in the house. 

Don’t forget, you can also catch the HS Musical, Anything Goes, at 3:30pm before the matches. It’s a very special, all ISB Spirit Night, this Friday in the Panther Den!

MS Band Concert – 6:30pm November 27 Chevron Theater

Please join our MS band students as they perform their their annual Holiday Concert, ‘Deck the Holidays’.  The concert will feature students in the Beginning, Concert and Symphonic Bands. The concert takes place on Tuesday, November 27 in the Chevron Theater.  Performances will begin promptly at 6:30pm and end before 7:30pm.  Admission is free!

Advanced photography guest speaker: 30 November, 2018 @10:25 ISB Photography studio. Kayleigh is a conservation photographer specializing in topics such as counter wildlife trafficking, animal tourism, conservation and educational awareness.

Her experience includes working with WWF in Vietnam, Freeland Foundation in Thailand, TRAFFIC, USAID, Animals Asia and ASC UK.

 

ARTIST UNDER THE STARS 2019

Second Chance Bangkok

Second Chance Bangkok will be selling their upcycled goods at ISB on Tuesday,
December 4th, between 7:30-3:00 in the MPB.
Please stop by, do some shopping and support a worthy organization. Their products
are beautiful, fun and earth friendly.

Second Chance Bangkok is a local initiative, fair trade organization in the Klong Toey
Slum that uses donated clothing to create upcycled goods. They provide opportunities
for people who have experienced barriers to employment. They also finance projects
that support families in the slum.

NEED TO CLEAN OUT?
From November 15 – December 4th we will be collecting donations for Second Chance
Bangkok. Please bring in gently used clothing, books, toys, etc. You can drop off
donations in the Grade 3 quad beginning November 15th.

ISB accepts announcements from ISB families for potential publication in our eNewsletters. The announcements are generally intended to highlight events that occur at ISB and/or highlight information about ISB.
