One Day

By Tico Oms

One Day started with a deceptively simple question: If you could learn anything you want for an entire school day, what would you do? Students brainstormed ideas, polished them, wrote a proposal, determined their resource needs, made a plan as preparation for One Day on May 30. Students were challenged to be creative, adaptable and self-managing. See what kids can do in just One Day in this video.

Bridge Day for Grade 5 students moving up to the Middle School

by Cindy Plantecoste, MS Dean of Academics

Today our middle school invited all of the grade 5 students to come to the MS to participate in Bridge Day. Throughout today, our grade 6 students and teachers engaged in a range of experiences with the grade 5 students. Our goals for the day were to make our upcoming MS students feel welcomed, supported, and have them meet a wide variety of our students and teachers.  Over the course of the day, students from grade 5 and grade 6 were mixed together to participate in learning experiences, acquaint themselves with our MS learning spaces, and to have a chance to socialize together.
Having visited all the sessions today, and spoken with many of the ES kids, it was evident that the participants had a great day! I would like to extend sincere thanks to our grade 5 and grade 6 teaching teams for their active participation in the day, and to Peter Assimakopoulos, and Karen Kinsella, for organizing today!

Repeat Announcement: Grade 8 Moving On Ceremony Live Link

On Thursday, June 7th, at 8:00 AM Bangkok time, we will be celebrating the completion of middle school by our grade 8 students. We call this ceremony the Moving On Ceremony and while it is not a “graduation,” it does represent an important milestone in the learning progress of our students. It’s a happy event for families and friends, as it acknowledges the steps these students have learned while also building excitement for what’s to come.

We understand that not everyone can attend the ceremony, so we will be live streaming the event at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8l4ocbdAxs

Please share the link with family and friends and invite them to watch on the day. This video will also be archived so that those in attendance can simply enjoy the event, knowing it’s being recorded for prosperity.

Repeat Annoucement: If You Know you are Leaving ISB

Families who are leaving ISB at the end of the school year are asked to inform the school as soon as possible using the official Notice of Withdrawal Form. This helps us prepare school records for your child and with planning for next year. Completed forms can be dropped off at the MS Office.
