Grade 8 Moving On Ceremony Live Link

On Thursday, June 7th, at 8:00 AM Bangkok time, we will be celebrating the completion of middle school by our grade 8 students. We call this ceremony the Moving On Ceremony and while it is not a “graduation,” it does represent an important milestone in the learning progress of our students. It’s a happy event for families and friends, as it acknowledges the steps these students have learned while also building excitement for what’s to come.

We understand that not everyone can attend the ceremony, so we will be live streaming the event at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8l4ocbdAxs

Please share the link with family and friends and invite them to watch on the day. This video will also be archived so that those in attendance can simply enjoy the event, knowing it’s being recorded for prosperity.

MS Talent and Dedication on Show

This past week some of the many talents of our middle school students were showcased in the Chevron Theater. In the foyer, as families arrived for the concerts, they were treated to our MS Art Exhibit showcasing student artwork in all sort of media.

Then from the music department, we had concerts on Tuesday and Thursday.

On Tuesday, the MS Band program held their concert Winds of Change. It was a wonderful demonstration of the learning progress students have made this year in the Beginning, Concert and Symphonic Bands.

On Thursday, the MS Choirs and Orchestras performed a wonderful evening of music highlighting the Beginning and Concert Orchestras as well as the Boys’ and Girls’ Choirs. In all cases, there were combined efforts as well, culminating in an amazing rendition by the full choir of “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman and the combined orchestra and choir playing and singing, “Viva la Vida” by Coldplay.

Both concerts were a wonderful showcase of the talents and hard work of our students. Thank you to our directors, Mr. Poling, Mr. Udagawa, Ms. Gricius, Mr. Marshall, and Mr. Giles, along with the help of Mr. Moore and Khun Non.

Important information from the ISB Health Clinic

It is the time of year when we need to start the medical screening process for ALL students.

We have modified the screening process so there is a basic medical screen for most students with a more extensive screen for students entering Grades 3, 6, 9 and 11, which includes a tuberculosis screen. Any student who has had a new student medical examination after January 2018 will not need a repeat examination. All students must fill in the Nurse Medication Consent form and Tuberculosis Symptom Screening form.

Forms are available for download from the ISB website here

Any student with Diabetes, Asthma or Anaphylaxis will also need an action plan filled out by the doctor. Theses action plans are available for download from the ISB website: ISB Health Services Forms and Resources.

If your child has regular medications that the nurse administers throughout the school day, please also get the Prescription Medication Consent form filled out.

ALL FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE HEALTH CLINIC BY JUNE 30 2018 either in person or via email nurse@isb.ac.th. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
