April 12th ‘New Year’’
Justin Alexander
justina@isb.ac.th
Dear Parents,
We enjoyed a wonderful Songkran assembly on Tuesday morning when the High School joined our Thai classified staff and teachers in order to celebrate and welcome in the new year. I feel that it is important to recognise and honor the festivals of this wonderful country and it was fantastic to see our HS secretaries and other staff in their finest traditional Thai outfits dance their way into the Songkran assembly. Their energy and excitement on Tuesday helped set a great tone and positive feel around the High School in advance of the holiday break.
Please take the opportunity to rest, relax and spend time and with family and friends over the next week or so. Our senior students have just one more school left before they start their study leave in advance of IB Exams. We wish them and their families all the best as they enter this period of consolidation and review.
On behalf of the HS administration and faculty I wish you all a safe and peaceful Songkran break.

We would just like to wish all our students and families a wonderful Songkran break. Our students will be ready for some rest and relaxation with a splash of fun.
Screenagers
During the week we had a wonderful turnout for the viewing of the short movie “Screenagers”. This is an award winning film that probes into the vulnerable corners of family life and depicts messy struggles over social media, video games and academics. The film offers solutions on how we can help our kids navigate the digital world. After the viewing there will be a brief presentation and an opportunity for discussion. Please see the link here for further information:https://www.screenagersmovie.com/
Michael Boll, our learning and technology coach gave a brief presentation – the PPT is shared below.

The movie was followed by really productive table discussion as families shared their stories, ideas and concerns. There were some great suggestions made at tables and some of which we will be further explored at the school. The classroom version of this movie will be shown to different groups of our middle and high school students.
Below are a few links to resources that you may find helpful.
