Dear Parents,
Our Enews appears a day early this week due to the celebration of Chakri Memorial Day on Friday, which means no school for our students. Our teachers however, will be hard at work as Friday is one of our designated Professional Learning days. This Friday the entire teaching faculty (PreK-12) will have the time and opportunity to review, update and improve our curriculum in a collaborative way. We look forward to their ongoing work to ensure a robust, cohesive and sequenced curriculum for all of our students at ISB.
On a separate note, I would like to extend a thank you to all families that joined us on Tuesday night to be our audience at the BOrCH concert in the Chevron Theatre. I was extremely proud of our students and our music teachers and support staff for putting on such a wonderful show. The concert featured our string orchestra, concert, chamber and combined choirs along with our wind ensemble. After strong ensemble performances by each of these groups and a short intermission all of the ensembles combined with our mass choir to perform a wonderful ‘mash up’ of songs and music from the hit Broadway musical Hamilton. The quality and passion of the performances were amazing and I am sure our students would give the real cast of Hamilton a run for their money. The evening ended with a standing ovation from the audience and a request for an encore of the final song. Congratulations to all of our student musicians and performers and a special thank you to our music team lead by Tom Myers, Andy Marshall and Adrianna Gricius who were ably supported by Joe Moore and the ISB music and theatre team.
Have a great long weekend.
Regards
Justin Alexander

Heat Illness….Be Aware!
Sally Plomely
sallyp@isb.ac.th
In the hot season we need to make sure our students keep hydrated to prevent heat illness.
The Health Clinic has noticed an increase in the number of students presenting with heat related symptoms.
Heat illness occurs when your body gets too hot and can not cope….it can be deadly! It can vary from mild heat cramps to seizures and coma. Heat illness can be prevented by making sure you are well hydrated.
Please encourage your child to drink 6-8 glasses of water whilst they are at school with extra water when you are doing outdoor activities such as PE and after school sports.
