‘Time for a break’
Justin Alexander
Justina@isb.ac.th
Dear Parents,
By the time you read this message, your children will be home and the first semester will have finished. Our 9th and 10th grade students have completed their semester exams and have had an opportunity to review their papers with their teachers. Our Juniors and Seniors can now take a little breather after a busy semester and come back in January refreshed and ready to go. Yesterday we celebrated the mid year graduation of Rion, Naho, Inou and Makito with their friends and teachers and we now wish them all the best in their future studies.
Please do be sure to take a well deserved break and spend some time with your families and friends. Safe travels and happy holidays to you all.
Regards
Justin Alexander

PowerSchool Access and Report Cards
Susan Canobie
susanca@isb.ac.th
PowerSchool access will return for parents and students later on December 15th. Families with outstanding fees, missing materials, or unresolved payment issues will not be given access until the issue(s) is/are resolved. As ISB continues to be ‘greener’ and timely we issue report cards through the PowerSchool Quick Lookup page. On the Quicklook Up page use the link at the top right to access a PDF report card for your son/daughter. The report can be saved and filed electronically and or printed. If there is a ‘report card hold’ in place, please resolve the issue with the appropriate department and then take the paperwork to the HS Office where the necessary changes can be made in Powerschool.
Possible Schedule Changes
Susan Canobie
susanca@isb.ac.th
In general students retain the same schedule for second semester. In some cases, due to changes in course
choice, addition of semester courses, or other factors, a student’s schedule may be slightly different next
semester. In these cases, we do the best we can to keep the same teachers for each student, but this is not always possible. Students need to view their Semester 2 schedule on PowerSchool to be ready for the first day of school.

College Counselors
We wish students and families a very restful and enjoyable holiday. This will be a great time to connect with family and to rest from what has certainly been a full semester.
12th Grade Applications – As of this week, close to 80% of students have submitted applications to universities. It’s important to point out that a number of ISB students won’t begin the application process until later this year (Australia, Korea, Japan, etc.). Students applying to the US and UK finalized their college lists at the end of November. Parents are encouraged to check Naviance to see their student’s list. Supporting documents have now been sent to these universities. It is not possible to make changes to the list or send additional documents during the winter holiday. Parents and students are able to meet with counselors regarding students applications and supporting documents when school reopens in January.
College Counseling Coffee – It was great to see parents at our coffee 2 weeks ago which focused on The College Search Process and How Colleges Make Decisions. A copy of the presentation can be found at this link. The next College Counseling Coffee will be held on Monday, January 15 at 8am in MPB #1 and the focus will be on US Higher Education. Thank you to all of the parents who have expressed an interest in these coffees. The main focus second semester will be on various university systems around the world.
Alumni Panel – This is an exciting season when we are lucky to see many ISB students return during the holidays. We will be hosting an Alumni Panel on Tuesday, January 9 from 10:55 – 11:35. This alumni panel is open to all high school students and parents. Come hear from former ISB students about their university experience and some of their sage advice to current ISB students and parents.
University Visits– for a full list of who is coming, please subscribe to the Google Calendar at this link.
From the High School Counselors – you made it to the finish line! Congratulations on finishing the first semester! We wish you a happy and fulfilling holiday season; take good care of your yourself and enjoy your time with family and friends. Go to the beach, read a book that’s not assigned, and do something that doesn’t involve a computer screen! All the best to you and yours, the Counselors.
