College Counselors

Seniors & College Applications – DEADLINE approaching! Any student with an application deadline in December or January must notify the counseling office (with a blue transcript request form) by NOVEMBER 20!

Juniors – have you asked your students about their personal mission statements? The mission statement is a great way to introduce themselves to their college counselor and will serve as the catalyst for conducting university research. This mission statement will be the beginning of the resumes they will start creating. College Counselors will meet with 11th graders for the 3rd time this semester on November 27 to talk about HOW to research universities.

College Parent Coffee – We look forward to seeing parents Monday morning for our next monthly parent coffee focusing on standardized testing. All HS parents are welcome to join us Monday, November 13 from 8-9 in MPB1.

University Visits– for a full list of who is coming, please subscribe to the Google Calendar at this link

School Counselors

Jackie Valenzuela (jackiev@isb.ac.th)

On November 16 at 9:30am, Mr. Davy, Mr. Callahan, and Ms. Valenzuela will speak briefly at the HS PTA meeting to further discuss the school counselor’s role with your student.  Please join us.

The week of November 20, Freedom from Chemical Dependency (FCD) will be on campus meeting with students. FCD is a non-profit organization that provides alcohol, tobacco, and other drug education to schools world-wide. FCD prevention specialists will present the most up-to-date information available on the physiological and psychological effects of various drugs, and provide a forum for discussing social, cultural, and personal issues that relate to the choices students make.

In addition, the FCD prevention specialist will lead a parent meeting in MPB 1 on Wednesday, November 22 from 9-10:30am.  We hope you can make it.
