‘Meet you at the forum’

We welcomed our close friends from our partner IASAS schools onto our campus today as we finally kicked off the IASAS soccer tournament. Our student athletes have been preparing and practicing for the past few months and we look forward to seeing them perform and compete over the next few days. You will see details later in the E-news about game times and championship games which we will hopefully be playing in on Saturday afternoon. The Volleyball and Cross country teams are currently in Singapore and we will be following their progress with close interest. I am very impressed with the Panther Pride displayed around the school over the past few weeks and I encourage you to support and follow our teams throughout this wonderful IASAS tournament weekend.

Next Thursday October 19th at 9.30am will see the first HS Principal forum for the year and I look forward to presenting and speaking with parents on a number of topics that were brought forward by the High School parent body. A number of these topics are ongoing (such as the transition to the 7-1 grading scale) whilst others are relatively new topics relating to the Extended Essay, time for HL IB classes, format of mock exams etc. As you might expect there were a number of questions relating to the College Application process that were brought forward by parents.  You may know our College Counselors are kicking off monthly Coffees for parents. The first will be on Monday October 16th at 8am with a focus on the overall college counseling program. These monthly coffees will be a great opportunity for our parent community to bring questions about all things relating to the college application process.

I look forward to seeing many of you on Monday at the College Counseling coffee and then again on Thursday at the Principal Forum.
Regards
Justin Alexander
