Parent Conferences

Education is a shared commitment between passionate teachers, engaged students, and dedicated parents – all with high expectations.

We hope you enjoyed meeting with teachers over the last two days, and found the experience informative and meaningful. We look forward to continuing this year’s learning journey with your child in the weeks and months ahead.  Thank you for your partnership – it is important to your child and makes a significant difference to their learning!

No School on Friday October 13

Friday October 13 is His Majesty The Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej Memorial Day. There is no school. Classes resume on Monday October 16. It will be an ‘E’ Day.

Dress Code for October

To show respect to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, students may be “out of uniform” until October 20 to wear muted colors of black/white or subdued colored clothing to school.  Please note:  On PE days, students must wear breathable and appropriate clothing for physical exercise.

The Thai PTA will also be distributing black ribbons, should students prefer to choose this as a gesture to show respect. Ribbons will be available in the morning in the front of the ES, the front of the Central Office and the front of Chevron.

ES Parent Engage – Thursday October 12th at 7:45 am in the ES MPR

There is always so much happening in the Elementary School.  How to keep up?  Attend our monthly Parent Engage sessions!

This month, we will meet a member of the Board of Trustees, give you the scoop on Lost & Found, and give more juicy details about Intercultural Day. We will talk more about resources in the community, logistics of preparing, food allergies, and answer questions.

We will also have an interactive learning opportunity from the ES Administration team around Collaborative Structures.  Collaborative Teaching Structures have been used as an instructional and learning strategy for a number of years at ISB.  Come learn about how these research-based structures have evolved, particularly with “buddy” groups, differentiated learning groups, Co-teaching and Team Teaching.  We will explain some of the benefits to student learning and hear what current educational literature is saying.

See you there!

Calling All Artists – Intercultural Day Logo!

This year, we would like to call upon our talented ISB artists to create this year’s Intercultural Day logo.

This is open to any Elementary School ISB artist. Students who are interested in working on a Intercultural Day logo will need to find their own time to work on their piece. All artwork must be original and it must say “Intercultural Day” somewhere on the logo. All logos must fit on a 15 cm by 10.5 cm piece of paper. Students can get a piece of drawing paper cut to this size from their classroom teacher. All submissions must be submitted to the ES Office by Friday, October 20th at 2pm. Please make sure that the artist’s name, grade, and class has been clearly written on the back.

The Intercultural Day teacher committee will choose one logo for this year. We will celebrate all artwork that is submitted on a bulletin board for Intercultural Week in November.

ES Explore (ES After School Activities)

Please note that Friday, March 13th, Memorial day for his Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej –  no school, no ES Explore in session.

All activities are well underway. There are few limited spaces available in some of our classes. Remember once the ES Explore schedule begins there are NO REFUNDS. All ES Explore have already hosted their 2nd session so there are no longer any changes permitted.

Can Someone Tell Me Why…?

Do you have questions, concerns or suggestions about the elementary school that you think other parents may be wondering about too?

Please email them to us, Katie and Yvonne, at escoord@isb.ac.th. We will take your inquiries anonymously to the ES Admin Team. They will address these topics at our ES Principal Forum on November 2 during the Parent Engage session.

Please don’t wait and wonder… we are parents working as a team with school administration and teachers, and that benefits all our kids!
