Dear Parents,

Thank you to the 50 parents (and three students) who joined us on Thursday night at a very informative HS PTA meeting. The HS Admin team spoke and shared information about Clubs and Activities, IB DP Exam results, Global Citizenship Week, Powerschool and our 7-1 grading scale. We were pleased that we could share with parents the differences between formative and summative assessments and show how these tasks are reported on Powerschool. We also shared the rubric document for Habits and Attitudes for Learning and then spent some time explaining how the Honor Roll will be calculated for our students with the 7-1 grading scale.

Honor Roll determination (Gr 9-11)
Students’ semester subject grades (on the 7-1 scale) will be totaled and averaged to produce a GPA with a maximum GPA of 7.0. Students whose GPA is above a 5.9 will make the Honor Roll and students whose GPA is in the range 6.3-7.0 will make the High Honor Roll.

Honor Roll Determination (Gr 12 only for this year)
Senior Students will receive a semester grade for each subject on the 7-1 scale. However for transcript purposes (for this year only) this 7-1 score will be converted to a letter grade (A-F) and then a GPA will be calculated with a maximum GPA of 4.8 (same as last year). Senior students whose GPA is above 3.5 will make the Honor Roll and students whose GPA is in the range 3.9 – 4.8 will make the High Honor Roll.

Have a wonderful weekend and all the best to students representing ISB in the various exchanges taking place (Soccer, Volleyball, Cross Country and Dance).
