Open House Thank You!
On behalf of the ES Faculty, thank-you for joining us for our Open House last night. We hope you enjoyed meeting teachers, seeing learning spaces and getting a window into the learning year ahead for your child(ren). There was such a positive energy from parents – thank you! We are thrilled to be in this partnership with you.

Early Dismissal – Tuesday September 5
All ISB students will be dismissed at 1:10pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. On Early Dismissal Days, school buses will leave ISB at 1:20 p.m. Early Dismissal Days allow faculty members and administrators to collaborate and further their professional development.
ES ‘Out of Uniform’ Day – September 7 and 8
These two days are ‘Out of Uniform’ days in the Elementary School. On PE days, students need to wear their PE uniforms. On their non PE day, students may choose to not wear their ISB uniform.
Appropriate dress guidelines for our ‘Out of Uniform’ days are:
- Pants/slacks/shorts—good condition
- Shirts/blouses—sleeves & midriff required, appropriate logos only
- Skirts/dresses/jumpers—sleeves required, modest length
- Shoes—sneakers, street shoes or leather sandals with back strap
- Hats must be worn all the time when playing outside during recess or during PE classes.

“The Grind” in the MS/HS Cafeteria
As a reminder, if elementary students are visiting “The Grind” in the MS/HS cafeteria before or after school, they must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian.
ES Parent Engage

The first ES Parent Engage session is right around the corner on Thursday September 7th at 7:45am in the ES Multi-Purpose Room. The ES Administration team along with your PTA representatives will speak about Inclusion and Intercultural Day.

We are looking for parents to spend the day with our amazing ES kids, sharing what is special about your homeland (or even a land you called home for awhile!). You will love the sight of your children dressed and walking in a parade to represent their culture. You won’t want to miss all the learning and fun that go on throughout the day. Come see us at the Parent Engage session to find yourself a role in the ES’s best day of the year- INTERCULTURAL DAY!!
ES Yearbook Photos
The yearbook photos will take place the week of Sept. 11 – 15, 2017. This is scheduled during the day and teachers will take classes to have photos taken.
ISB is a Nut-free Campus
As stated in our Parent/Student Handbook, ISB is a nut-free campus. We have many students at our school with serious nut allergies. In order to keep them safe, we do not allow any kind of nuts on our campus at any time. This includes the snacks and lunches that you might send to school with your child. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our children safe.
ES Explore (ES After School Activities)
This Semester’s ES Explore Program (After School Activities) will begin on Monday, September 18th.

Registration is open online on Friday, September 1st until September 6th.
Confirmations of ES Explore placement will be available online on September 15th on your child’s Powerschool page.

(Repeat) After School Supervision
Any elementary school student on campus outside of regular school hours, who are not participating in a school sponsored event, must be actively supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. This includes being in the elementary Learning Hub (library).
(Repeat) Important Reminders for Montri Bus Riders (from the Montri Bus Handbook p. 2)
We understand that schedules change, which impacts dismissal plans. To ensure our students are safe and buses leave in a timely manner, we require that you contact Montri if your child rode the bus to school, but will not be riding the bus home as scheduled. If you cannot contact Montri directly at 0-2963 5800 Ext. 7704, contact the ES at 0-2963-5800 Ext. 5504.
You are not required to contact Montri regarding the following changes:
- You pick your child up from the ES Office
- Your child is sent home from the clinic
- Your child is on a field trip
- Your child is attending a previously scheduled, ISB sponsored activity after school, and Montri is aware

Do you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader who loves to sing, play instruments, or move? Please click here to find information about the ES Panther Choir & Orff Ensemble. Do you have a 3rd, 4th or 5th grader who plays violin, viola, cello or bass? Please click here to find information about the ES Orchestra. Please note: both ensembles run separately from ES Explore (After School Activities) and use a different registration system. Also, no payment is required for participation in either ensemble.

Submitting an announcement for publication
ISB accepts announcements from ISB families for potential publication in our eNewsletters. The announcements are generally intended to highlight events that occur at ISB and/or highlight information about ISB.
What to include in the announcement
- A title for your announcement
- An email contact for further information

Your announcement will be submitted to the appropriate Principal and/or to our Director of Marketing and Communications for review. ISB reserves the right to determine which announcements will and will not be published, and to edit announcements that are approved for publication.
Frequency of eNewsletter mailings
The ISB eNewsletter that is for the entire community is sent out on Thursdays. Announcements for potential publication in this newsletter must be received by noon on Thursdays.
