Greetings Friends and Fellow Parents!

It is time to come together and plan the Elementary School’s best day of the year- INTERCULTURAL DAY! Join us on Septe

mber 7th at the ES Parent Engage to learn all about the elementary school’s celebration and how you can play a role.

Unsure of just what the day involves? Worry not! We will give you the whole scoop, answer any questions, and help with ideas.

Parents have already begun to submit their requests for a classroom to represent their culture or country. Please do not delay in contacting us at escoord@isb.ac.th and then attend the Parent Engage session to get all the details on the day. You’ll most likely want a classroom in your own child’s grade but spots are limited! Contact us now- you won’t want to miss this!

We will see you on Sept 7, 7:45am in the ES MPR!

Early Dismissal – Tuesday September 5

All ISB students will be dismissed at 1:10pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. On Early Dismissal Days, school buses will leave ISB at 1:20 p.m.  Early Dismissal Days allow faculty members and administrators to collaborate and further their professional development.

Evacuation Drills at ISB

Student safety is our primary concern at ISB. Like all schools and large organizations, ISB has emergency procedure plans in place.  Each year, we conduct emergency situation practices, including evacuations and lockdowns.  At the start of the year, students are told about these drills and teachers spend time explaining our procedures. Our first drill will take place next week.

ES Explore (ES After School Activities)

This Semester’s ES Explore Program (After School Activities) will begin on Monday, September 18th.

After School Activity booklet available online for viewing or downloading go to  https://www.isb.ac.th/student-life/activities/es-activities and click “Activities booklet” link.

Registration will be open online on Friday, September 1st until September 6th. Confirmations of ES Explore placement will be available online on September 15th on your child’s Powerschool page.

Would you like your children to study a Native Language after school?

If so, please complete the email survey currently being sent to multilingual ES families about interest in Native Language classes. If you receive a survey by email, please complete one per family.

If you do not receive a survey, or if you have questions, please email <nativelanguage@isb.ac.th>.

After School Supervision

Any elementary school student on campus outside of regular school hours, who are not participating in a school sponsored event, must be actively supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. This includes being in the elementary Learning Hub (library).

Important Reminders for Montri Bus Riders (from the Montri Bus Handbook p. 2)

We understand that schedules change, which impacts dismissal plans.  To ensure our students are safe and buses leave in a timely manner, we require that you contact Montri if your child rode the bus to school, but will not be riding the bus home as scheduled.  If you cannot contact Montri directly at 0-2963 5800 Ext. 7704, contact the ES at 0-2963-5800 Ext. 5504.

You are not required to contact Montri regarding the following changes:

  • You pick your child up from the ES Office
  • Your child is sent home from the clinic
  • Your child is on a field trip
  • Your child is attending a previously scheduled, ISB sponsored activity after school, and Montri is aware

Please contact Montri at 0-2963 5800 Ext. 7704 if you have any questions

Bicycle Helmet Reminders

ALL bicycle riders must correctly wear, and fasten, a helmet when wishing to access campus.  Helmets must be worn at all times when riding, walking or pushing a bike to/from the designated parking racks on campus.  Beginning Monday, August 28th, those not wearing a fastened helmet will not be allowed to access campus.

(Repeat) ES Open House – Aug. 31 @ 6:00pm in the Chevron Theater

We warmly invite you to our ES Open House on Thursday, August 31 at 6:00pm in the Chevron Theater. This is a wonderful night to meet your child’s teachers, understand classroom procedures and expectations, and learn more about the learning your child will experience at ISB this year. You will be able to meet homeroom and specialist teachers (PE, Music, Art, World Languages, Learning Support and EAL).

This evening is not, however, a time for sharing specific information about individual students. As always, if possible, it will be important for both parents to attend Open House, especially if you have more than one child in the Elementary School. Families with children in multiple grade levels might need to divide and attend different classroom presentations at the same time.  Please keep in mind that this evening is for adults only. There will be no child care provided.

Open House is a vital step in fostering a strong home-school partnership, and we look forward to welcoming you to this special event.
