Grade 9
Final exams will arrive before we know it. There will be some in class review but most teachers will also offer additional study / review sessions after school. It is important that students try and take advantage of these opportunities, please encourage them to do so. We also have a learning hub that our students can drop into at any time of the year. Teachers and learning support specialists staff this.
Mr. Davy had shared some resources with students this week in regards to exam preparation and addressing potential anxiety, here is one of the documents:

Here is also a recent short article shared that reframes ways to look at anxiety leading into an event or exam: http://www.gozen.com/transforming-test-anxiety-with-a-mindset-shift/
Students are also reminded that if they are interested in ISB summer school that they register as soon as possible. We have applications in our office, which require specific signatures, please have your son or daughter pick one up. Students have received their confirmed course selections for next year. Be sure to check with your son/daughter and make sure that they have the courses that suit their needs. Any questions, have them check in with Mr. Davy
FYI – this summer students will keep their computers at home, they do not have to hand them in like last year.
Grade 10
Students have received their list of classes for next year. Be sure and check with your son/daughter and make sure that they have a schedule that suits their needs. Any questions, ask your counselor and she/he will take a look. Just another couple weeks to think about this year and then you can relax and look forward to a break!
Grade 11
These last few weeks can be quite stressful as students manage end of year assignments, assessments and as many students plan for SAT/ACT tests. Many classes will start final exam review soon. Parents should help students find balance in what can be a hectic time ensuring they get plenty of rest and downtime to stay recharged through June 9! Help your student reflect on what has gone well this year and where they’ve met success. This will help students identify what is important to them as they prepare for life after ISB.
11th graders took a self-assessment related to their college planning and identified their personal “to do” list for now through July. Ask them about it! We discussed summer visits to colleges, the need to find balance in Senior year with enjoying what is the final year at home for most students, and making a plan for testing, recommendations, and essay writing. Students have access to resources on Haiku to get them starting to think about how to write for the US and UK.
Grade 12
