Montri RFID Tap In Starts Monday 3 April
Andy Vaughan
andyv@isb.ac.th
ISB and Montri have been working together to improve our bus transport safety standards. Each bus is equipped with an RFID system that allows us to track which students are on and off the bus. Students who travel on Montri now have ISB Student cards that allows them to tap on and top off when they get on and off the bus; they no longer have to carry a separate Montri Bus Card. This system allows us to know who is on the bus, and when and where they mount and disembark.
From Monday 3 April it will be a requirement for all students to use this system. Therefore, please remind your child to use their student ID card to tap on and tap off the bus in the week ahead.

Grade 9
We have been seeing some fatigue kick in at this time of year with some of our students. This can be due to efforts put forth towards school, an extra notch on the heat index, and a number of different factors. It is important at these times to maintain a “healthy engine”, concentrating on good sleep, exercise, and nutrition. Please keep promoting this.
Maybe consider pulling out a board game, pack of cards, adult coloring books, craft project etc. this weekend and have some good stress free family time with your son or daughter.
Grade 10
One week to go until Songkran Holiday, we hope that your sons and daughters are feeling good about their second semester and are happy with their selections for the next school year. Please encourage them to drop by and see their counselor if they have any concerns or questions about classes, or anything else for that matter!
Grade 11
These last few weeks have been incredibly full with assessments and students are doing their best to hang in until Songkran break. Thank you for your support in providing them with positive encouragement balanced with rest and some downtime.
By this point, ISB Counselors have met with 11th grade students and parents for college discussions (Student Led Junior Conference) and all families should have a clear plan moving forward over the next 5 months.
We recommend that non-Native English speakers plan to take the TOEFL or IELTS over the summer. Also, any student applying to the US should have sat at least one ACT or SAT prior to the summer holiday. As a reminder, ISB is a closed/unlisted testing center for both SAT and ACT. Students should see their counselor for more information on a testing plan appropriate for your student’s needs and for registration information.
Grade 12
Parent Transition Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 27 at 8:30am. Counselors will discuss the transition process to support parents as Grade 12 students move on to university, gap years, etc.
Senior Transition Day will take place on Wednesday, June 7 for all Seniors. Students will have a full day of events as they prepare to graduate high school and head off to new adventures. More details will be shared after Songkran.
