Drinking Water – It’s hot out there!
by Dennis Harter
dennish@isb.ac.th
As we hit the hottest months of the year, it is important that we work with our students to ensure that they are hydrated to best handle the heat through their activities. Our PE teachers and coaches continue to emphasize drinking water, with frequent water breaks and time in the shade.
What’s most important, of course, is that students engage in physical activity ALREADY hydrated. This means that they drink water throughout the day, not only when they are active and sweating.
We will continue to remind them to do so during the day, but we need your help. Please ensure your child is drinking plenty of water at home. Also, please ensure they have a water bottle to use throughout the school day – we encourage these to come to class!
You can see from the photo below that students are losing their bottles and not collecting them back – this was taken at today’s lost and found display.
Thank you in advance for helping us ensure that your children are hydrated and well-protected during these hot months.
