Welcome Back!
We are thrilled to welcome students back to school for the start of another great semester of learning. A special ‘hello’ to our 18 new students and their families. We hope you feel cared for as new members of our ISB family! We are looking forward to the amazing growth and change that will be happening throughout this next semester.
ES Make-up Photos – Monday, Jan. 23, 2017
New students who came to school on or after September 12, 2016 will have their pictures taken on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 7:30-2:00 pm in the ES MPR. Students will need to wear the red or white ISB uniform shirt. If it is your child’s PE day, please send a red or white uniform shirt for them to change into for this photo session.
A retake session will also be available for other students from 2:20-3:00 pm in the ES MPR. This is completely optional and requires signing up now by emailing Khun Tina (tinaratr@isb.ac.th) by Monday, January 16, 2017. Students will not be allowed to miss class time to retake their photo. You must supervise your child during the photo time after school.
Child Safeguarding
During the month of February in classroom guidance lessons in PreK-Grade 5, the counselors will be teaching 3 lessons about personal safety. This includes learning about what safe, unsafe, and unwanted touches mean as well as teaching rules about keeping safe in various situations. Examples may include traffic, fire, and street dog safety; what to do if you get lost; and the importance of asking before going anywhere without a parent, or accepting a gift from someone else. Click here for the full version of the letter.
Occupational Therapy available at ISB
We are excited to welcome Kiratinoot Luanganggoon, Pediatric Occupational Therapist, to ISB as another step toward becoming a more inclusive school. Kira will begin providing services on a part time basis later this semester.
Occupational therapists are healthcare professionals who support children in developing the skills they need for playing, learning, and taking care of themselves. They help children become more independent in their everyday lives by targeting cognitive, physical, sensory, and motor skills. We are excited about the benefits that having an occupational therapist on campus will bring to our students with diverse learning needs.
If you believe your child may need occupational therapy, please contact his/hercounselor for more information.
Kira has her Master of Occupational Therapy Practice from LaTrobe University in Melbourne, and her BS in Occupational Therapy from Mahidol University.
To meet Kira and learn more about the role of an occupational therapist, please join our parent training next week Thursday from 8-9 am in the ESMPR.
