A Big Thanks
A big thanks to all of the parent and grandparent mathematicians who came to last Thursday’s Parent Workshop, Building Number Sense in the Elementary Grades! We put ourselves in the shoes of PK – 5 grade students, thinking about the big ideas and developmental shifts associated with number. We played games and thought about how we can support these shifts at home. Click here to view the slideshow. Click here to view the handout.
Report Cards: Trimester 1

(Repeat) Intercultural Day – Friday November 18th
Our ES International Day has been renamed to Intercultural Day. This terminology has been discussed in many schools, including ISB, for the last couple of years. We recognize that nations have multiple cultures, creating diversity and similarities within and across physical borders. Our mission is to be caring, global citizens, and celebrating the many cultures around our globe supports this.
Intercultural Day is a “hands-on” learning day to celebrate ISB’s rich intercultural diversity. Many of our ES classrooms are “transformed” by parents into themed rooms celebrating different cultures; food, dress, language, music, and geography throughout the day.
A few details for parents:
- On Intercultural Day, students are welcome to dress representing their home cultures.
- Students are invited to wear t-shirts representing places they have lived or traveled instead of their uniform in the week leading up to Intercultural Day.
- Intercultural Day begins with an Assembly. Parents are welcome to join the Assembly, as we are gathering in Rajendra Hall and have space. Parents will need to be seated by 7:45AM SHARP – so that the Parade and Assembly can begin on time.
(Repeat) Leaving ISB at the End of the First Semester?
Parents of students who are not returning to ISB after Semester 1 need to notify the ES Office, K. Tina (tinaratr@isb.ac.th) as soon as possible and fill out the Notice of Withdrawal from ISB Form to enable us to process school records for their next school. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
(Repeat) After School Supervision
Please ensure you know where your child is each afternoon and that maids and nannies understand the ISB policy around supervision after school. ES students MAY NOT be on campus after school unless supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. Thank you for your cooperation.
