Elementary School International Day – Volunteers Needed

Hello parents,  we  need parent volunteers to help with ES International Day, which will be on Friday, November 18th, 2016.

Day begins with a beautiful parade and assembly and then afterwards the ES students spend the rest of the day walking through the represented country classrooms in their grade level.

We need country representatives in each grade level from PreK/Kg – Grade 5.  And for those who have not experienced International Day at ISB, this is an example guide for what needs to be done:

2.5 minutes:  Country name:
Where is it in the world?
Country flag

Intro to 3 centers

10 minutes:  Center #1-Craft + story during craft

10 minutes:  Center #2:  Art + famous artist story/game

10 minutes:  Center #3:  Whole group participates/Dance/Music

2.5 minutes:  Wrap Up:

What did you learn that you did not know before?

Total time: 35 minutes

This rotation will occur 5-6 times during the day as each class from the grade level comes into the classroom.

This is only an example and rooms can be set up in many different ways.  Please do not think that everything must be elaborate.  Simple and fun is great!

The PTA is providing lunch for volunteers on International Day!  Also please note that only volunteers are allowed to spend the rest of the day in the Elementary School after the morning assembly.
If you are interested in hosting a room but need help getting volunteers, please let us help you!  If you just want to volunteer to help that day, please send us a message!

PTA ES Representatives!
