Welcome to Middle School – it’s 2016-17!

Finally, the start of school is here! While this is not normally a thought young people have after summer vacation, but here at ISB, teachers and counselors have been preparing for the past week and we are excited to have students roaming the halls and filling our classrooms again. We’re not a school without them!

The start of 2016-17 brings a few changes that are worth knowing about for students. As we communicated last year, school still starts at 7:20 every morning, but we will now end the day at 2:25 pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Tuesdays will end at 2:05 pm. With this added time, students will meet with with a small group of students and their advisor. You and your child will here much more about this great program in the weeks to come.

We will be sharing lots more information as the year gets started. If you are looking for answers, start with the newly revised MS Student Handbook.

Most importantly, the first day of school is coming. When students arrive at school they should come to the main MS quad area near the MS Office (newly renovated). On the bulletin boards, they will find their name and where their advisors classroom is. There won’t be any classes on the first day as we do various orientation and get to know each other and our school activities. Everything will be looked after and explained on the first day.

Please send your child to school with money on their campus card or cash to top up their cards so that they can eat at the cafeteria. We will be distributing ID cards during the first day of school.

Students should come wearing regular school uniform (green or white shirts) – no need for PE uniforms on the first day.

We can’t wait to see those green and white shirts and those smiling faces on our campus again. Welcome to the 2016-17 middle school year!

It’s going to be great!
