There is no school for ES students on these days, however students will attend their conference. Students do not need to wear their school uniform to the conference.
Parents should have received individualized letters for making appointment times last Friday. Pick-a-time, the online scheduler, will remain open until 2pm on Tuesday March 8. Detailed information about the structure of the student led conferences will have been communicated through your child’s class blog and/or Friday Folders.
Student Led Conference Tips for Parents:
- Please give your child your full attention and enjoy this focused time with them. Switching off mobile phones is greatly appreciated.
- Taking photographs can be distracting. Please save photos until the end of the conference.
- You and your child do not need to use English – feel free to communicate in your home language.
- When listening to your child, give positive feedback and share your observations about the learning that has taken place.
- If your child seems a little nervous or shy, just give them time and ask guiding questions about what they are showing you.
- Be mindful that something may seem very small to you, but it may have been a huge achievement for your child.
- Remember that student led conferences are not ideal for detailed individual conversations between parents and teachers, however there will be an opportunity made available for you to spend a small part of the homeroom conference with the teacher.
