Friday, March 4th:  “Keeping Our Children Safe”

Dear MS Parents,

You are invited and encouraged to attend a presentation on the issues teens and parents face in Bangkok regarding teen risky behavior.

The presentation will be held this Friday, March 4th, from 7:30-8:45 a.m. in the MPB1.  The presenters will be Graeme Scott, ISB’s Deputy Head of School for Learning, and Eduardo Torres, a consultant from the Freedom From Chemical Dependency (FCD) organization who is working with all MS students this week.  Topics to be presented on will include the:

  • latest research on the mental and physical effects alcohol and drugs have on the developing teenage brain
  • myths and misconceptions about adolescent drug use
  • warning signs that children may be abusing alcohol or other drugs
  • role parents play in keeping their kids drug-free during adolescence
  • strategies used to help children resist the pressure to drink or use drugs

The presentation will conclude with an open Q&A session.  We hope you will join us.
