Happy Holidays

From all the staff in the Elementary School, we wish our students and families a very safe and happy holiday. We have had a wonderful first semester and look forward to seeing you all back on Monday, January 11, 2016 (A Day).

To those of you who are leaving ISB and Thailand, we wish you every success with your move and transition.

ISB Service Learning partnership with “Second Chance Bangkok”

Service Learning keeps moving forward at ISB. One example of this, is the partnership with Second Chance Bangkok. Now in the project’s 3rd year, grade three students have gained a better understanding of the community and day-to-day life found in Klong Toi.

Thank you to our ISB community who supported the sale last week – over 110,000 baht was raised during this time. Second Chance Bangkok continues to be overwhelmed by the support and generosity they receive from their visits to ISB.

ES New Parent Orientation—Second Semester

Parents of Elementary School students, who are new to ISB, are invited to attend the New Parent Orientation on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 at 7:30 am in the ES MPR (the big room behind the Elementary School office).  See you there!

ES ‘Out of Uniform’ Day—January 14 and 15

These two days are ‘Out of uniform’ days in the Elementary School.  On PE days, students need to wear their PE uniforms.  On their non PE day, students may choose to not wear their ISB uniform.

Appropriate dress guidelines for our ‘Out of Uniform’ days are:

  • Pants/slacks/shorts—good condition
  • Shirts/blouses—sleeves & midriff required, appropriate logos only
  • Skirts/dresses/jumpers—sleeves required, modest length
  • Shoes—sneakers, street shoes or leather sandals with back strap
  • Hats must be worn all the time when playing outside during recess or during PE classes

(Repeat) The ULTIMATE Job and Maria Charity Fun Run – Jan. 15, 2016

The ULTIMATE Job and Maria Charity Fun Run will be on Friday, January 15 at 4:30 p.m. on the track. (That is the first Friday back to school after the holiday.)

J&MRunPoster2016Job and Maria’s classmates will be graduating from ISB this year, so this will be our last opportunity to race in their memory. (Job and Maria were ISB 1st grade students when the 2004 tsunami hit.) We will run to raise money for scholarships for Thai students. Read a recent letter from one of our sponsored children.

Parents, children of all ages, and sports teams are welcome to enjoy friendly competition. There will be races for all ages, from the 200 meter Hand-In-Hand race for anyone wanting to race together, to the 1 mile race for Middle and High School Students, and adults. Subway and Twist will be selling, and there will be treats for every participant. Contact Caryn Macky if you would like to help at the event.

(Repeat) Leaving ISB at the End of the First Semester?

Parents of students who are not returning to ISB after semester 1 need to notify the ES Office, K. Tina (tinaratr@isb.ac.th) as soon as possible and fill out the Notice of Withdrawal from ISB Form to enable us to process school records for their next school.  Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
