Bike Helmets
We encourage parents to remind their children to wear their bike helmet to and from school each day. We are seeing a disturbing increase in the number of students who are not wearing their helmets. Many of the children are dangling the helmet on their bike handlebars, which creates an additional hazard. On the way to school, increasing numbers of students and adults will at the last minute throw on and not buckle the helmet before entering campus. This is very hazardous. The research shows a high correlation between bike accidents and life altering head injuries. The research points to the importance of riders wearing a properly fitted and strapped on bike helmet to reduce the risk of injury. Studies also show that a high percentage of bike accidents involving head injuries or death occur within a short distance of home. Please talk to your child today about the importance of wearing their helmet at all times when riding – on the way to school, on the way home and anytime they go for a ride.
No Drop-off Zones
All bike lanes in Nichada Thani are for bicycle and pedestrian use only. Only emergency vehicles are allowed to enter those lanes. Please do not pull over into those bicycle lanes or cross-walk areas to drop-off, pick-up or park you vehicles. This has created a very dangerous hazard for our students and community members biking in the designated bike lanes or entering and exiting our entrance points to campus.
