Oct. 19-23 October Break

Enjoy the break!  No school from October 19-23.  Classes resume on Monday, October  26.  It will be a ‘B’ Day.

International Day – The first Friday after break! (October 30)

Some final reminders as we lead up to International Day on the first Friday after break.

  • On Friday 30th, students are invited to dress representing their home country – a very special out-of-uniform day!
  • In addition, students are invited to wear country t-shirts instead of their uniform or P.E. uniform shirts in the week leading up to International Day.  A country t-shirt represents a country or place-visited with their family.
  • International Day begins with an Assembly. Parents are welcome to join the Assembly, as we are gathering in Rajendra Hall. Parents will need to be seated by 7.30am SHARP so that the Assembly can begin on time.

ES After School Activities

Please note that next week there will be no ASA in session during October break. All ASA will resume on Monday, October 26th.  Tournament of Minds will have their first session on October 28th in the MPB 3 (top of the zigzag).  Most of ASA have already hosted their 4th session so there are no longer any changes permitted.

I am in the office daily from 1:30pm – 3:30pm if you have any questions or concerns.

Enjoy your holiday,

Livnat Ziskinder
ES After School Activities Coordinator

Leaving ISB at the End of the First Semester?

Parents of students who are not returning to ISB after semester 1 need to notify the ES Office, K. Tina (tinaratr@isb.ac.th) as soon as possible and  fill out the Notice of Withdrawal from ISB Form to enable us to process school records for their next school.  Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Cafeteria News…Did You Know…?

The ES Cafeteria is starting to celebrate an entire International Weekstarting on Monday Oct 26, leading up to International Day on Friday Oct 30.  We’ll be taking a trip around the culinary world starting with China and moving on to Germany, Japan and then Italy.  The week will culminate on Friday, International Day, with a family seating style of Finger Foods from across the globe.  One might ask, why is this different than any other week as we already serve an international cuisine?  The difference is that each day is dedicated to a sole country with the international finger foods being some kinds that are not normally served in ES.  Chi Hao He Hao, Guten Appetit, Tanoshimo, Bon Appetito.  Enjoy.

(Repeat) NaNoWriMo and Parent Workshop

If your child is participating in NaNoWriMo this year, please consider coming along to our ‘NaNoWriMo for Parents Workshop’ in the ES MPR on 28th October from 7:30 to 8:30am. This will be an opportunity to ask questions, familiarise yourself with the NaNoWriMo experience, and learn how to best support your child at home throughout this project. For more information, click here.

(Repeat) Elementary School International Day Volunteers Needed

ES International Day is set for Friday, 30 October, 2015.  This is a fun filled day for the elementary school when parents turn the classrooms into various countries represented here at ISB.  Students learn the history, heritage, and culture, of these countries through playing games, creating beautiful artwork, tasting new foods, and learning new languages.  This special day of learning only happens because of parent volunteers.  If you would like to be a part of the ES International Day team, please contact your country rep or ES PTA reps: Mindy Lorber mindylorber@gmail.com and Verena Petzinnaverena19@yahoo.com
