Congratulations to all our athletes, teams, and coaches for an exceptionally successful tournament weekend past. Friday night saw the gym packed and the fields lined with ISB students, parents, and community members as over 30 teams crowded onto campus for one of the largest Spirit Night’s ever! ES students from the Team Connect flocked to see their favorite varsity athletes in action while the buzz from the Booster Tent kept everyone coming back for more.
The boys volleyball team defeated NIST for the gold medal, 2-0 while the boys soccer team took down NIST in penalty kicks for the big trophy. Both girls teams earned trophies finishing third on the weekend. Leo Karlsson won the boys 5km cross country race, while Becky Bradley was the top ISB finisher, winning the silver.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to such a fantastic weekend! Mark your calendars for November 27, the season two Spirit Night!

A Call for Host Families – 2015 IASAS MUN at ISB
Anthony Giles
anthonyg@isb.ac.th
Dear ISB Parents and Students,
As you may or may not be aware, ISB will be hosting the 2015 IASAS Model United Nations November 11-15, 2015. Out of the 250 students from 15 schools around the region participating in the conference this year we will need hosts for approximately 150 of them! Think of it as an opportunity to give to students at other schools who may host students from ISB in the future. Or, think of it as an opportunity to give back if your family has already benefited from similar arrangements at other schools.
IASAS tournaments and conferences like MUN depend upon the good will and generosity of people like you to host visiting students from other schools. This reciprocal agreement shared throughout the region adds immense value to our programs, and provides a unique opportunity to develop new friendships, share in culture, and strengthen our connections across international communities. Honestly, it’s one of the things that makes IASAS events so special.
So, show off your new guest room. Share your favorite dessert. Get to know students from other schools. In short, be a part of this rich IASAS hosting tradition by registering here on or before Wednesday, October 7.
Please Note: All MUN members (both IASAS and non-IASAS), and IASAS CC delegates, past and present, are required to submit the housing form linked above. Students/families unable to fulfill this requirement must find another host and notify the Khun Kwang (louisas@isb.ac.th) in the Arts and Activities Office immediately with their contact information.
Things to consider…
- Host families are responsible for providing a safe environment for visiting students in compliance with the ISB Hosting Policy.
- Student guests must be hosted in pairs, or more, with no exceptions.
- Accommodation can be fairly basic and rooms shared.
- At least one parent/guardian must be present at home for the duration of the convention. Evening supervision is required.
- Visiting participants will arrive Wednesday, November 11, 2015.
- All visiting teams will depart on or before Sunday, November 15, 2015.
- Host families are expected to provide healthy breakfasts and dinners for visiting students.
- All participants and host students must follow the IASAS Rules and Guidelines set forth by the league and host school.
- Parents will receive a curfew call from visiting coaches at 9pm every evening to check in with their students.
