We are always proud of the learners and global citizens that our students are becoming, however their are times when the wider community gets to see this too. This weekend we have two groups of students contributing to a better world.
Over 30 band students joined our band teachers and other staff chaperones in Khao Lak to perform a concert and interact with the R35 school students and community. They make real connection with these young people. R35 is the school that ISB rebuilt and maintained a long term relationship with after the 2004 tsunami destroyed the school and affected so many families. We continue to support individual students through After the Wave.
We also sent an equal number of students into Khao Yai National Park to camp and do environmental work as part of this weekend’s eco-trip. They are hoping to come back with some photos from our PTA sponsored camera traps that have been set up to take shots when triggered by wildlife walking by (last time we got great photos of a leopard).
We are very excited about these experiential opportunities for our students. We will share photos from the trip on our Flickr and Facebook sites in the days to come.
