Celebrating our Middle School

Thank you to all of you who attended our Middle School Open House night, on Thursday night. Despite the torrential rain, parents of over 300 students made it to ISB and met with their child’s teachers.

At the start of the evening, I introduced many new faces to our school community and shared our vision of care and attentiveness to the learners and learning in our building. Middle school is an incredible time of change for our young people and our faculty and staff are thrilled and excited to work with your children, engage them in the learning, and ensure that they are having fun.

We believe that we showcased a bit of what we are proud of, over the course of the evening. Equally importantly, we shared that we continue to want to be better – and to do that requires your help and feedback. The partnership between home and school contributes to the success and happiness of the students we care for. Please continue to keep an open dialogue with us and let us know when you have concerns or questions.

Another way that I hope to celebrate our learners and the great teaching and learning that happens in the Middle School, is through our newly created ISB Middle School Facebook page. On this page, we will be celebrating learning, students, teachers, staff, and parents at ISB Middle School! If you are a Facebook user, please Like our page to get updates about what’s happened or happening in the MS.

Last week, we met separately as grade levels and talked about the courage it takes to sometimes, just have fun. At different times, we are all at different entry points to that, ready to watch, participate a little, or completely let go and get into it.It was a wonderful message of participation, safe risk-taking, appreciating each other for where they were, and having fun together.

So to kick off  your weekend, enjoy our grade 7 and grade 8 students showing off their moves in last week’s grade level assemblies.

Have a wonderful week end!
