A reminder that Monday, March 16th is calendared as an ISB Holiday. ISB will be closed this day and re-open on Tuesday, March 17th with an MS Day 3.
Tuesday, March 17th: Grade 8 HS course registration parent information session

On Tuesday 17th March at 6:30pm in the MPB the HS will be hosting a grade 8, parent information session about the on-line registration process for High School courses for next year. All grade 8 parents are welcome to attend. The week before, students from Grade 8 will receive similar information and have the opportunity to ask our Grade 9 Counselor, Mr. Kevin Davy any questions.
MS FCD March 17 – 20th
Dear MS Parents,
As part of our Wellness Program, a visiting consultant from the Freedom from Chemical Dependency (FCD) organization will meet with students in grades 6 – 8 on March 17 – 20th.
- 6th graders will meet for one 55 minutes session during one of their science classes this week.
- 7th graders will all meet via a 7th grade one-hour assembly and one 55-minute session during one of their science classes this week.
- 8th graders will all meet via a 8th grade one-hour assembly and two 55-minute sessions this week, one session during one of their math classes and the other during one of their science classes.
The sessions will focus on positive discussions on the health risks of alcohol and substance use to the developing teenage brain, possible long term addiction problems tied to early use, social norms and the misconceptions about teenage behavior, and strategies for maintaining healthy choices.
Next MS Principal Forum, Thursday, March 19
MS Parents! Please mark your calendars for the second MS Principal Forum, which will be held this coming Thursday, March 19th, at 9:00am in MS Skybox (room 4-308). Mr. Burgess and the administrative team will address and respond to topics that have been raised by MS parents, such as: Haiku/Homework, Drug Testing policies, BISAC Sports, New Structure of MS Administration (Roles and Responsibilities) and more.
Please join us for a very informative meeting, and enjoy some refreshments too. Hope to see you all there!

Friday, March 20th: “Keeping Our Children Safe in Bangkok”
MS and HS parents are encouraged to attend a panel discussion on the issues teens and parents face in Bangkok regarding drug and alcohol use.
The panel will be held on Friday, March 20th, from 7:30-9:00 a.m. in the MPB1. Topics will include the:
- role parents play in keeping their kids drug-free during adolescence
- latest research on the mental and physical effects alcohol and drugs have on the developing brain
- myths and misconceptions about adolescent drug use
- warning signs that children may be abusing alcohol or other drugs
- strategies used to help children resist the pressure to drink or use drugs
- drug culture around Bangkok, latest trends, and legal ramifications
The panel will conclude with an open Q&A session. We hope you will join us.
2015/16 Course Selections Grades 8 – 11 OPENS Wednesday 18th March…
ALL grade 8 – 11 students (even if they may be leaving) will be asked to make course selections for next school year via Powerschool from 18th to 23rd March. Please refer to the HS Program of Studies for course information.
