Tournament of Minds

Last Sunday, ISB hosted the Bangkok Tournament of Minds and welcomed over 300 students from all over Bangkok to participate in this team-based, creative problem solving competition, including 33 ISB students.

The next “First Friday with Andy” will take place on Friday 6 March at 8:00am in the new Business Office Conference Room (aka Orange Room).
“First Friday with Andy” is an open forum for parents to meet informally with the Head of School and address any topics of interest or concern. No signing up is necessary – simply come and participate if you are free and interested.

2015 Music Cultural Convention Concerts
This year, ISB is proud to host the 2015 Music Cultural Convention, bringing guest conductors and delegates from all 6 IASAS schools together for some phenomenal music making.
For those of you who appreciate solo and chamber music performances, you’ll want to check out the Festival Showcase Concert Friday, March 6 from 6:00 to 8:00pm in Chevron Theatre. Performers from each of the areas of vocal, band and strings will be featured throughout this concert.
If you prefer large group performances, then our Festival Concert on Saturday, March 7 from 4:00 to 6:00pm in Chevron is the show for you. You will be amazed at what our guest conductors are able to do with such young performers! Come out and enjoy the show!

Last Chance to Register for NBBL Community Basketball

This is the final call for registration for NBBL Community Basketball as teams are now being finalized. NBBL basketball offers play for all boys and girls in grades 1-12. The fee for the season is THB 3,000 for all players.
Player assessments will be conducted on Saturday, March 7th (and maybe March 8th due to conflicts). League play will begin on March 14th and will continue through the weekend of May 22nd/23rd – we will have a break over the two Songkran weekends.
Payment for the NBBL season can be made at the Community Activity Office (CAO) which is located next to the bookstore at ISB. The CAO is open from 7:00 to 11:00AM and 12:00 to 3:00PM Monday – Friday.

All Parents Welcome
All parents at ISB are invited to attend the monthly Welcome Wai Coffees coordinated by the ISB’s PTA reps Heather Powell and Rachel Neale. We especially encourage new parents who arrived this 2nd semester or 1st semester to come along so as to make new contacts and have your questions answered.
The Welcome Wai coffees continue throughout the semester and so if you were unable to attend in February, we hope you can drop in on Wednesday 11th March from 1pm at Nichada Starbucks.
No RSVPs necessary but if you have any questions please email Heather or Rachel at welcomewai@isb.ac.th and we will be happy to help. This is a good opportunity to get to know other new families a little better and have your questions answered.

Join 6th year of Yoga Event with ISB families, community, and the Traffic Jam club, to raise awareness and funds for Anti-Traffic Organization . This year the heart and the energy goes to ZOeChildrenHomes in Chiengmai.
ZOE rescue trafficking victims and safe them in family shelter for girls and boys. ZOE provides nutritional food, medical care, education, and other essentials to minors in a family-unit setting, for long-term positive results for survivors of human trafficking. Scholarship program available for post-secondary education including college and specialized vocational training
Be part of giving new life to those victims, join the family fun oriented yoga practice, on Saturday, March 21, 7:30-9:00 am. at HS Dance Studio, CCT building.
Bring a water bottle. If you have a yoga, bring one. If not we have plenty for you. Suggested donation: 500 Baht for adult, 200 Baht for kids, or any.

Dear Parents,
The 5th grade book sale is a yearly sale put on by the 5th graders with the help of the teachers, IAs, and parents.
The Funds raised from this Charity event support the Mercy Center in Klong Toey and pays for the education for many underprivileged kids who cannot afford education. Last year they raised close to B200,000.00. This year we, of course, would like to beat that amount.
Please start sending books and/or complete board games to school with your child. The book boxes are located around the school. You may also drop them in 5th grade work room. (small room at the top of the stairs in the 5th grade quad).

ISB accepts announcements from ISB families and ISB staff for potential publication in our eNewsletters. The announcements are generally intended to highlight events that occur at ISB and/or highlight information about ISB.
