ES e-News for November 21, 2014

International Day

International Day Nov. 2014“When we enlarge our view of the world,
we deepen our understanding of our own lives.”  Yo-Yo Ma

Today’s celebrations for International Day reminded us not only our cultural diversity, but also of the power of collaboration to bring people together in the spirit of shared identity and purpose around a common goal. Heartfelt thanks to the entire ES community for everything you did leading up to today’s activities and for the hard work today.  We saw evidence that our students (and their parents) loved every moment!

Cafeteria News…Did You Know…?

As has become tradition at Epicure, a Thanksgiving Feast will be served in the HS/MS Cafeteria on Thursday Nov 27 starting at 10am.  Thanksgiving is a time of Community, Collaboration, Friendship, Family, Blessings and Remembrance.  Ideally it should be a day like any other in terms of our Gratitude, however, it is special for us to dedicate a day for extra reflection upon these bounties. The delectable menu will include: Carved Roast Turkey, Honey Glazed Ham, Homemade Herb Stuffing, Giblets Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli & Carrot Saute and Pumpkin Pie, all for only 160 B.  Should your child wish to partake in this celebration on Thursday, please ensure that their campus cards are topped up so as not to disappoint.  Parents from across campus are also welcome to join in for this delightful lunch!  Enjoy.

(Repeat) Babies Home Clothing Drive

We are the club officers of the High School club called Phayathai Babies Home, that visits a local orphanage every Friday. The children at Phayathai Orphanage either do not have parents/guardians or their parents are unable to take care of them. In order to further help our dearly loved orphanage, we are running our first Babies Home Clothing Drive. We would much appreciate new or lightly used children’s clothing that would fit children from the ages of 5 and under. Any baby clothing is accepted, but it is important to keep in mind Thailand’s weather in mind and know that summer clothing will be more useful to them than thick winter clothes. Outside of the ES office, inside the Mother’s Room, and in the Community Service Office there will be a box that is labeled “Babies Home Donations”. The drive will be running from November 7th- December 5th.

Thank you very much for your help!
