Parent Conferences

We trust that you enjoyed meeting with your child’s teachers during our conference days.  Teachers and parents have talked very positively about the opportunities to get to know each other better and to discuss learning goals for the year ahead. Thank you for your continued partnership in the education of your child.

Raising Multilinguals

On Friday, 17th October, the EAL teachers will host a workshop for all parents of multilingual children.  It will be in the ES MPR from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM.   This workshop will guide parents on how to best support their children’s language development now and in the future.  We’ll look at strategies, share ideas, and consider how to make a language plan.  Join us!

Early Dismissal – Tuesday October 7

All ISB students will be dismissed at 1.05pm on Tuesday, October 7. On Early Dismissal Days, school buses will leave at 1:15 p.m.  Early Dismissal Days allow faculty members and administrators to collaborate and further their professional development.

ES ‘Out of Uniform’ Day – October 9 and 10

These two days are ‘Out of uniform’ days in the Elementary School.  On PE days, students need to wear their PE uniforms.  On their non PE day, students may choose to not wear their ISB uniform.

Appropriate dress guidelines for our ‘Out of Uniform’ days are:

  • Pants/slacks/shorts—good condition
  • Shirts/blouses—sleeves & midriff required, appropriate logos only
  • Skirts/dresses/jumpers—sleeves required, modest length
  • Shoes—sneakers, street shoes or leather sandals with back strap
  • Hats must be worn all the time when playing outside during recess or during PE classes

Tournament of Minds (TOM) – Help Required

Tournament of Minds is a creative, problem-solving competition for teams of students encompassing cooperation, critical, creative and divergent thinking, performance and time-management. It is similar to the US-based programs Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination.

We have a group of enthusiastic students signed up ready to get started in this after school activity after the October break and I’m looking for an equally enthusiastic adult to get involved and help out with this group. We will meet on Wednesday afternoons, from 2:15pm to 3:15pm. No experience is necessary, just lots of energy, enthusiasm and a sense of fun. If you are interested in getting involved, or would like to learn more, please contact Selena Gallagher – selenag@isb.ac.th

ES Musical – Aladdin

AladdinThis year’s ES musical will be Aladdin, and the Director of this year’s musical is Costantina Pederzolli.

All grade 4 and grade 5 students are invited to be a part of this fun, jazzy musical.  If your child would like to be in the musical, he or she should come to our first meeting on Tuesday 14th October, 2:15 – 3:15, in MPB2.  At this meeting students will learn more about the musical, the schedule for rehearsal, the performance dates and the necessary commitment.  If your child has a prior commitment and cannot attend this meeting, he or she can go to room 122, Ms MacLeod’s room, at morning recess on Thursday 16th October and collect an information package.

If your child usually takes the 2:15 Montri bus, please contact Montri directly to let them know that your child will take the 3:30 bus instead.  If you would prefer to pick your child up at 3:15, please also notify Montri.

ES After School Activities

After School Activities are well underway. There are few limited spaces available in some of our ASA. Remember once the ASA schedule begins there are NO REFUNDS. Most ASA have already hosted their 2nd session so there are no longer any changes permitted. I am in the office daily from 1:30pm – 3:30pm if you have any questions or concerns.
