ES e-News for September 18, 2014

Peace Day

We are asking all members of our school community to “wear white” on Wednesday, September 24th as a symbol of ISB’s commitment to peace in our own lives, in our school, in our host country, and in the world.  For more information contact Chris Tananone, Global Citizenship Coordinator, at ctananon@isb.ac.th.

ES Parent Conferences –  October 2 and 3

We are looking forward to sharing your child’s learning progress in our upcoming Parent/Teacher conferences.  For grades 2-5 only, students are invited to attend the conference with you.  Your child’s teacher will be in touch with how this will look, but keep in mind that this structure is not a student-led conference, but rather a chance for students to informally discuss how their learning has progressed in the first several weeks of school.  Students in grades PK-1 will not be involved in the Parent/Teacher conference.  All students are welcome to attend the Book Fair in the ES library HUB and the ESMPR where supervision will be provided.

In your child’s bag next Monday, you will find an important document that outlines how to register with our online conference scheduler, Pick-a-Time.  This letter contains the username and password for your child.  Please be aware that EACH child in ES has a separate username and password.  Pick-a-Time will open at Tuesday morning at 8am.

ES Musical News

We are very pleased to announce that this year’s grades 4 and 5 musical production will be Aladdin!  Get ready to be transformed through space and time, to the land of magic carpets, genies and loads of adventures. We are thrilled that Constantina Pederzolli will be our director this year.  Constantina comes to us from the International School of Munich, International School of Uganda and International School of The Hague where she has been a music teacher for 7 years, and has directed and produced several school musicals and productions. Anita Gopalaswamy will be helping to produce the musical once again this year.  Constantina and Anita will be working with a team of teachers and parents to make this a very special experience for our students. Auditions will take place in November, followed by a few practices soon after, and more regular practices planned for January and February.  The production will take place on Feb 17 and 18, as appears in the ISB calendar.

ES After School Activities

Remember, once the ASA schedule begins there are NO REFUNDS however, you may change your ASA choice once it is before your third session.
