ES e-News for September 5, 2014

Elementary School Parent Workshop

Thank you to everyone who attended our first parent workshop of the year.  We had a full room as Nat (our Hub Librarian), Sarah, Tammy and Kim (our learning coaches) worked with our mostly new ES parents to explain our approaches to learning and the resources to help support that learning.  Please look for upcoming ES Parent Trainings on the first Thursday of the month.

ES Yearbook Photos

The yearbook photos will take place the week of Sept. 8 through Sept. 12, 2014 in the ES MPR. This is fully co-ordinated by ISB.

Cafeteria News…Did You Know…?

All day Breakfast Days have been a part of the ES Cafeteria in recent years.  However, in line with the School’s commitment to students leading healthy, active, balanced lives and for the sake of good and balanced nutrition, we have decided that this tradition is best kept for weekend celebrations with family and friends. We will therefore discontinue with ‘All day Breakfast’ days at school, offering instead our other most favored, healthy and more balanced lunches.  Here’s to the start of another tasty, well-being year in the ES Cafeteria.  Enjoy.

Poster and Banner Guidelines

Getting the word out to a community about an activity or event can be a challenging, yet creatively inspiring task! As we are all becoming more environmentally aware, using social media and digital eNews to advertise an event are more effective ways to get the word out! Attached are ISB’s Guidelines regarding advertising through printed media. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Marianne Derow, Arts and Activities Director, mariannd@isb.ac.th, to clarify. Happy Advertising!

ISB is a Nut-free Campus

As stated on p. 31 of the Parent Student Handbook, ISB is a nut-free campus. We have many students at our school with serious nut allergies. In order to keep them safe, we do not allow any kind of nuts on our campus at any time. This includes the snacks and lunches that you might send to school with your child. Thank you for your cooperation and support in keeping our children safe.

(Repeat) After School Supervision

Please ensure you know where your child is each afternoon and that maids and nannies understand ISB policy around supervision after school.  For safety’s sake, ES students MAY NOT be on campus after school unless supervised by an adult in charge, appointed by the family. Thank you for your cooperation.
