Child Protection Message from the Head of School

Dear ISB Community,

Many of you will have heard in recent weeks of news stories regarding potential child abuse at international schools.

Such stories are incredibly disturbing and as parents our natural reaction is to be concerned about our own children and to critically examine the safety of the environments our children are exposed to.

While we believe our campus to be a very safe and welcoming environment for students, our main priority is to ensure this belief is supported by best practices with respect to child protection, safety and security.

To this end, I have convened a Child Protection Committee to review our existing practices, policies, and procedures. The committee includes administrators, safety & security personnel, counselors and psychologists. We will also be seeking outside assistance from embassies and child protection experts in reviewing our safeguards. Our aim is to ensure that our children are as safe as possible both on and off campus.

Please feel free to contact me with concerns, questions or suggestions.

Sincerely,

Dr. Andrew Davies
Head of School
