Support for ISB’s Scholarship Program

Dear ISB Parents,

Each year, ISB accepts two scholarship students into our High School (grade 9 or 10). Our scholarship program is designed for highly capable Thai students whose families have a demonstrated financial need. Most recently, the scholarship students have come from the northern regions of Thailand. Our hope is to provide a high quality English medium education for these students and assist in securing scholarships to universities.

As we look to give back in some small way to our host country, we are seeking support from the ISB community (both past and present). If you would like to support this program, there are two main ways you can help.

1. Make a Donation

Simply visit the ISB website, click on the “Giving to ISB” icon, and choose a payment method. Even small amounts will help. We are also reaching out to our alumni and former ISB parents.

2. Welcome a Scholarship Student into your Family

We are now looking for volunteers to provide housing for the following students for the 2014/15 school year:

Khan (male)

Khan completed 9th grade at Yupparaj Wittayalai School, Chiang Mai province. His father is a disc jockey at a local Thai radio station. His mother works in purchasing at a local hotel. Khan is an only child. He enjoys playing volleyball.

Poy (female)

Poy completed 10th grade at Strisrinan School, Nan province. She lives with her parents in a village outside Nan town in Wiang Sa district. Her father is a teacher at a small village school. Her mother is a housewife. Poy has one younger brother. She enjoys playing badminton and photography.

Ideally we are seeking host families that:

·      Live close to ISB

·      Speak English at home

·      Have a spare bedroom

·      Would enjoy the experience of housing a scholarship student

Host families would be expected to provide food, lodging and some incidental expenses. The ISB Scholarship Fund will take care of uniforms, cafeteria meals, school trips, some clothes, school supplies, certain other incidentals and transportation costs home for holidays.

If you are interested in volunteering to host one of these students, please complete the Host Family Expression of Interest Form by clicking on this link by May 2, 2014. If you should have any questions, please contact our Scholarship Program Coordinator, Mr. Tony Arnold at anthonya@isb.ac.th

All families who submit an Interest Form will be contacted to arrange an appointment for an interview.

Sincerely,

Dr. Andrew Davies
Head of School
