Next Mindfulness Training for MS Students:  .b (Stop, breathe, be Mindfulness 8 week course)
This exciting program is now open for the second time this year for our MS students. We have places for 12 students only. The training is led by Mrs. Greenwood (grade 7 counselor), a trained Mindfulness teacher. The Mindfulness in Schools Project (UK) has designed this 8-week program, which has been successfully evaluated by Professor Felicia Huppert of Cambridge University and Professor Katherine Weare, Exeter University. Mindfulness is now highly regarded as a life skill that can be taught to young people and adults to improve wellbeing and enable people to flourish. Please see attached the information about the .b program.

If you would like your child improve their attention/concentration, feel happier, calmer, more relaxed, improve their relationship with others, and help them feel more confident in situations that make them feel anxious like tests or sport or music performances, this program is ideal for your child. There is no cost for this program.

The program will be held on Thursdays and starts on the 27 March 2013 from 2:15 until 3:15pm and takes place in the MS Office. Students need to know this is an 8-week commitment, and students gain most when they make a full commitment to the program. The dates of the training are as follows:

  1. Thursday, April 3
  2. Thursday, April 10
  3. Thursday, April 24
  4. Thursday, May 1
  5. Thursday, May 8
  6. Thursday, May 15
  7. Thursday, May 29
  8. Wednesday, June 4

Please email Mrs. Greenwood at jackieg@isb.ac.th to reserve a place for your child.

Cafeteria News…Did You Know…?

…That our milk supplier, Dairy Home, has introduced a new label design for their organic milk? This change has caused quite a stir on campus and a lot of confusion with everyone!  There have been many questions about why we changed our milk, while others believe that the ‘new’ milk tastes even better than the old one. Please allow us to clarify this issue – the label design is the only thing that has changed, nothing else!  The bottle itself, the superior quality, the great taste, and most importantly the organic nature of the milk are exactly the same! It is really amazing to think of what a little change in color and design does to our overall perceptions of a product! Please continue to savor all the traditional goodness, while you appreciate the new fresh and dreamy look.  Enjoy!

Reminder:  Leaving ISB at the end of the school year?

The MS Counselors will be running lunch time sessions for students who are leaving at the end of the school year. These sessions will start in the beginning of April. During these sessions, we will be supporting students as they build their RAFT. RAFT stands for ReconciliationAffirmation, Farewells, and Thinking destination. The term comes from David Pollock and Ruth Van Reken, authors of the book Third Culture Kids.
