Dear ISB Community,
As of today, ISB plans to open on 13th January for students in grades 4-12 on a reduced schedule for those students that can safely get to and from school. The school day will run from 7:20am to 12:30pm. We will be in touch again if the situation changes and we are unable to open school.
Please note that Montri will not be providing any transportation services – all buses and vans are cancelled for Monday 13th January.
We are anticipating severe traffic conditions and parents are advised not to attempt to get their children to school if there is potential for traffic gridlock en route.
To help with the continuity of learning, teachers will be in contact electronically by Monday afternoon with those students unable to get to school. Please be patient as teachers may not be able to set up online learning until after school has ended for the day.
A number of ISB teachers and classified staff members will not be able to get to school on Monday. Teachers in grades Pre-K to 3 will be needed to ensure we have appropriate cover and supervision throughout the whole school. We are very sorry that we cannot accommodate students in grades Pre-K to 3 at this time.
I would like to thank the 40 plus families that have offered accommodation to downtown students.
We will remain in contact with our security advisors, monitor events on Monday, and be in touch again on Monday evening latest.
As always, the Leadership Team is happy to help with concerns or suggestions and contact details are provided below.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andrew Davies
