Young Writer’s Award 2014 Announcement
Dear Students,
We are currently organizing the Young Writer’s Award for the current school year 2013/2014. While we are finalizing submission procedures and judges, keep in mind that you will be able to submit up your writing for judging and possible inclusion into the Young Writer’s Award book. This book is published at the end of the school year with the winning submissions.
Details to keep in mind:
1. You may submit if you are a Middle School Student.
2. You may send in up to 3 writing pieces (1000 words or less for each).
3. Any genre/type of writing is acceptable –poems, stories, essays, memoirs, plays, etc.
4. Your writing must have been read and approved by an adult editor (teacher, parent, friend). You will be required to enter the name of your editor on the submission form.
5. Deadline for submission will be April 1, 2014.
6. You submit here: https://inside.isb.ac.th/youngwriters/submit-your-writing/
Remember judges are looking for:
· Clarity of thought
· Creativity and imagination
· Emotion
· Voice
· Evoking a reaction from the reader
· Spelling, grammar and punctuation are always important. Judges are aware that MS students are still learning; and while judges may overlook a few errors that do not impede understanding, it is important that you review and edit thoroughly your writing prior to submission. You must also submit your writing to an adult editor prior to submission; this person could be a teacher at ISB, a parent, or another adult.
